Ashland gives Harrison to Kyle on 'The Young and the Restless'

This is not a spoiler but what actually takes place on the Monday, August 16 episode of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. The Lockeness monster relinquishes his son to Kyle because he believes this is what is best for the little boy that he has raised for 3 years. Ashland shows up at the Abbott mansion after a chemo session and he did not look well at all. He was winded and his voice was hoarse. The CBS soap could simply be trying to be realistic about how drained some people are after chemotherapy or this could be an indication that Ashland will die.

As mentioned in other articles Richard Burgi was hired to portray Ashland through the summer and nothing has been said about his time on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS being extended. On Monday he tells Victoria that he wants to be past his first round of chemo before they become man and wife. The tone of this episode was as cryptic as the one where Summer said her goodbyes was sad and felt just as final. The writers could be letting Ashland die although some spoilers still say he is tricking Victoria.

Ashland visits Jack and tells him he has come to a decision and to get Kyle on a video chat. Once that is done Ashland says that he has considered his health as well as his outburst in the park in front of his son. He wants Harrison to live with Kyle and Summer in Milan and he also had some stipulations. Locke wants to be able to fly to Italy whenever possible and spend time with the little boy and would like for Kyle to fly Harrison to New York to meet him.

Ashland also wants Kyle to talk about him fondly to Harrison and to make room for Tara to visit her son when she is out of prison. Kyle agreed to everything and asked Jack if he would fly the little boy to Italy. Ashland went upstairs and spoke with his son to explain everything off camera so now THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS viewers have closer on at least one storyline. Should Ashland die, Harrison will already be with his biological father.

Those who believed Kyle was not the baby daddy now know they were mistaken. To be fair THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS may have been going the route of Kyle not being Harrison's father and changed the script after Michael Mealor and Hunter King decided to leave the show. It's not clear what will happen at this point but there are two distinct possibilities. Once Mealor's last scenes air he will no longer be shown. If Ashland lives and marries Victoria then Harrison might be mentioned every now and then or be shown visiting his dad and or grandfather Jack.

If Ashland dies then Kyle, Summer, and Harrison will remain in Milan and only be mentioned once in a while. There may come a point where Mealor and or King ma return or the roles could be recast. For now, the issues of Harrison's paternity and Ashland's intentions have been addressed. Hunter King still has not officially addressed the rumors of her leaving THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS but the fact that Mealor said he was leaving speaks volumes.

Michael Mealor's last air date has not been given but spoilers say he last taped the first week in July. This would indicate that this coming week is possibly going to be when his last episodes will be shown on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. Skyle fans were hoping for a big wedding in Genoa City or Milan but there is no indication this will happen. It could be that Kyle and Summer's big kiss when he showed up in her hotel room. So far none of the spoilers for next week mention Kyle and Summer but be on the lookout for updates.
