When Usagi vanishes without explanation, Arisu must return to the underground world of the game, carrying with him a joker that can change the course of the game.

With the development of the game, it is shown that the reality of Borderland is really an experience lived by people who have been in a state of clinical death after a disaster caused by a meteorite in Tokyo. The characters, including Arisu and Usagi, are in a state of "near death", and their memories about Borderland are hazy. At the end of the game, the survivors must decide whether they agree to stay in Borderland permanently or return to the real world, although without remembering what happened.
After Arisu and Usagi succeed in the game, they are presented with the option to return to real life. Both choose not to stay in Borderland permanently, which means that they will return to their past lives, albeit with the uncertainty about what they will actually remember. The final scene shows a deck of cards, centered on the joker, suggesting that the story could continue in coming seasons, leaving open the possibility of more adventures in this universe.
The season two finale of Alice in Borderland not only concludes the story of the deadly games, but also raises questions about existence, death and the choices we make, leaving viewers with a sense of curiosity about what will happen next.
