1. Chuku Modu.

Who else is loving The 100 right now? That is by far one of my favorite TV shows and in case you didn't know, they're back for their 7th and final season airing every Wednesday (wow! This kind of advertisement, you'd think they're paying me for press 😂 )
Anyways, when the opening credits were going, a particle name caught my eye. The name was written Chuku Modu and as a Nigerian, of course that caught my eye because ah ah, Chuku, isn't that Chukwuma?
So I said let me quickly google who this Chuku Modu person is, and lo and behold, it turns out to be the man playing Xavier/Gabriel on The 100. Wow! Look at the talent Nigerians bring to the table. Homeboy is really making us proud. Keep flying that Nigerian flag high Chukuma Modu (his legal name). If you're wondering why he looks so familiar and you don't watch The 100, then maybe you've seen him on Game of Thrones, The Good Doctor, or Captain Marvel.
2. Yvonne Orji

Yvonne is the Nigerian girl who plays super famous character, Molly, on the hit HBO TV show, Insecure. Yvonne is proudly Nigerian. She makes it known everywhere. In her interviews, in her comedy, everywhere!
Her standup special will be coming out really soon and in that special, she goes at length talking about Nigeria and her Nigerian upbringing. She even visits Lagos, Nigeria and shows off the city and her family to viewers worldwide.
This is a girl that is making us really really proud and we're so happy for all her success!
3. Cynthia Erivo

Who else watched The Outsider? Who else loved The Outsider? That was my show when it was on the air, and woo! What a show that was.
One of the leading characters on that show was Holly Gibney played by none other than Cynthia Erivo, full name Cynthia Onyedinmanasu Chinasaokwu Erivo, who as you can see from her name alone is VERY Nigerian.
Cynthia has starred in other projects such as Widows, Bad Times at the El Royale, and Harriet.
Yet another Nigerian girl making her people proud!
4. Jidenna

Classic man, Jidenna, caused waves in 2015 when he released his smash single Classic Man, and featured on other smash single Yoga. The rapper who grew up in Nigeria showcases his culture very richly through his art and in interviews.
He's been very outspoken about his time in Nigeria, things he'd wish to see change for the better in the country, and has been all around just a boy that we are very proud to see succeed on a global scale.
Keep the flag flying Jidenna. You're on the right track!
5. MNEK

Speaking of people in the music field, singer-songwriter MNEK most popular for the song, "Never Forget You" is an artiste that has worked with the likes of Beyonce, Craig David, Madonna, and many many artistes in the industry.
His name which many people pronounce "M-Neck" is actually pronounced letter-by-letter: "M, N, E, K". If you're a Nigerian and you just sounded that out, then you'll be having an Ahaaaa moment. Yep, MNEK is just stylized for Emenike, a very popular Nigerian name. His full name is Uzoechi Osisioma "Uzo" Emenike.
The boy seems to be doing very great things for himself and we continue to wish him great success in his music and other endeavors. Keep doing us proud!
6. Tyler The Creator.

Still staying in the music realm, another popular rapper you might be surprised to find out is Nigerian is Tyler The Creator. His legal name is Tyler Gregory Okonma (very Nigerian name) and he was born in California to an Igbo father and mixed mother.
Tyler is known for being a trouble maker and provocateur but has also been able to produce and sell some hit songs including Yonkers, EARFQUAKE, and Oldie.
7. Lil Wayne

Finishing off our list is a confession that came earlier this year. On an episode of Drink Champ, a show that airs on Revolt TV, Lil Wayne opened up about his Nigerian ancestry saying:
Shout out to Nigeria, I did my 23 and me ancestry dot com and my shit came back like 53% Nigerian. Yea! Me and my mum need to have a talk (Laughter).
So the rapper is 53% Nigerian, wow that's the majority of his ancestry. When asked if he's ever been to Nigeria, Lil Wayne said:
I have never been to Nigeria. That is the place I would love to go. I gat to go to Nigeria…I gat to go see that place.
Well you're welcome anytime Maazi Lil Wayne. Our doors are always open!
