5 Main Reasons Why Hawkeye Might Be the Best Disney+ Series of 2021

It's because he never misses, of course!

With only less than a month away before its official release on November 24, 2021, exclusively on Disney+, the MCU’s resident archer is set to have his miniseries as a continuation of his storyline after the events of Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

In the need of continuing its more comprehensive plot heading to Phase Four, the Marvel Cinematic Universe provides us with these television series on Disney+ about our favorite ‘secondary’ characters and is currently doing a great job at it. Starting off the year with WandaVision last January, followed by The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in March, the first season of Loki in June, and the first season of the animated What If…? in August, this coming Hawkeye series that is set to be released next month might be the best one yet of this year.

Jeremy Renner returns as Clint Barton / Hawkeye as he passes on the mantle to Kate Bishop played by Hailee Steinfeld. With enough material and plot points from previous movies and television series, the Hawkeye is shaping to be the best one yet.

5. Valentina’s Motives

It’s quite unclear what Valentina’s motives are as she recruited John Walker in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier when ‘things are about to get weird’ and tasked Yelena to kill Hawkeye as seen on the credit scene for Black Widow.

With this question hanging over the fans’ heads, the Hawkeye series now has the chance to clear things up and explain why Valentina is manipulating them. Although, it is more likely for Yelena to be an ally of Clint and Kate by the series ends which means the show will open up a larger plot for the MCU.

4. Hawkeye’s Family Life

If you’re one of those people who were stunned by that farm scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron revealing Clint’s wife and kids, then you’re not alone. Losing his family to the snap has caused him to go down a rough path by becoming a vigilante and having the chance to make up with all the lost time, the holiday theme of the series might give us some emotional and heartstring moments as Clint tries to protect his family, train Kate, and to frankly stay alive all at the same time.

3. A New Heroine in the name of Kate Bishop

Since the premise of this series has been revealed, Kate Bishop becoming the successor of Clint Barton is one of the things fans have been waiting for. Like Sam Wilson, fans would probably prefer Kate to go by the title of Hawkeye when the series ends, launching her as a new heroine to look out for in the MCU.

But knowing that the series will only consist of six episodes, she might not be completely ready to take up the mantel by the end of the series which would open an opportunity for season 2 with her as the main character as she finally embraces the responsibility that comes with continuing Hawkeye’s legacy.

2. A Potential Fight Scene between Yelena Belova and Kate Bishop

After the release of Black Widow back in July, there’s no doubt in mind that Yelena Belova has become one of the newly introduced MCU characters that fans are always eager to see. Knowing that Clint is listed in Yelena’s people-to-kill list, it will be very interesting and exciting to witness a showdown between Yelena and Kate like watching a Black Widow versus Hawkeye matchup.

And as we have seen in the trailer, Kate seems to be getting a hand of Hawkeye’s arrow tricks, among other abilities she’s learned, and there will be no better way to showcase it than doing a fight scene between a former Black Widow and a future MCU archer protecting her mentor.

1. More details about the Avengers’ current status

Since the beginning of Phase Four, the current status of the Avengers has been nothing but enigmatic. There were a few mentions of the team in WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier but both of the shows weren’t necessarily clear about the Avengers’ stand as of the moment.

And with Clint Barton being one of the remaining original Avengers–apart from Bruce Banner and Thor, the Hawkeye series would be the best chance to give us more insights into the team’s current standing in the MCU and confirm what exactly is happening in the group post-Endgame.

On that note, the Hawkeye series is not only going to be a fun limited series considering its holiday theme but might also be an emotional and adventurous one which would be vital to the expanding plot in the MCU.

An original series from Marvel Studios, start streaming the first two episodes of Hawkeye on November 24 exclusively on Disney+.
