1. Date of Birth

Candace Cameron Bure was born Candace Helaine Cameron in Panorama City, Los Angeles, California on April 6, 1976. Candace is a well-known actress, producer, author, and talk show panelist.

2. Acting Career

Candace has an older brother who is also an actor. Kirk Cameron and Candace both developed a passion for acting when they were very young. Kirk started acting in 1979 when he was 9 years old, and Candace began doing commercials when she was only 5, and started acting officially in 1982 when she was 6. Her first role was in St. Elsewhere from 1982 to 1984.

While Candace was acting in Full House, Kirk was working in another popular series, Growing Pains. They acted together once when Kirk appeared during a 1988 episode of Full House.

3. "Full House" and "Fuller House"

A lot of people got to know Candace as D.J. Tanner when she acted on Full House from age 11 until she was 19. She reprised her role as D.J. Tanner-Fuller on Fuller House from age 40 to age 44.

4. Hallmark Acting Career

Candace starred in her first Hallmark movie Moonlight & Mistletoe in 2008. So far, she has starred in a total 29 Hallmark movies, including Aurora Teagarden Mysteries with leading man, Niall Matter eight times.

She has had more popular leading men in some of her other Hallmark movies, including Paul Greene, Luke Macfarlane, and Victor Webster.

5. "Dancing with the Stars"

In 2014, Candace was a contestant on Season 18 of Dancing with the Stars. She and her dance partner Mark Ballas finished in third place.

6. "The View"

From 2015 to 2016, Bure was a co-host on the daytime television talk show The View. Some people criticized her because of her right-wing views. Bure said about her short time on the show, “I’ve never been more verbally abused in my life than on Twitter, and specifically in the last few months, having come on this show."

7. Candace's Marriage

Cameron married Russian NHL hockey player Valeri Bure on June 22, 1996. The couple met at a charity hockey game and was introduced by Candace's Full House co-star Dave Coulier. After they first met as teenagers, they had a whirlwind romance and were engaged within a year. After they tied the knot on June 22, 1996, Valeri sent Coulier a hockey stick with writing that said: "Dear Dave, thank you for Candace."

The popular actress has been criticized for taking a submissive approach to marriage. The actress caused waves when she wrote in her 2014 book, Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose, that she relies on her husband to make most of the family's big decisions. She wrote on Instagram that "I am not a passive person, but I chose to fall into a more submissive role."

Candace and her husband have owned and operated Bure Family Wines since 2006.

8. Candace and Valeri's Children

Valeri and Candace have three children, a daughter and two sons. Their first child, Natasha was born when Candace was only 22 in 1998. She gave birth to a son, Lev in 2000, and another son, Maksim in 2002. Everything happened in two-year intervals from marriage and birth of each child.

Candace said her sons are more into sports like their father and her daughter goes back and forth between going into entertainment or staying away. Natasha Bure competed in Season 11 of The Voice when she was 18.

Candace's family has a Christmas tradition. They do not open any gifts from under the tree until after they have taken food and gifts to homeless shelters.

9. Political and Religious Affiliation

Bure is a conservative Republican and a devout Christian. She is criticized because of her conservative views about politics and religion. However, she stands firm and does not apologize for her beliefs. She has been a Christian since she was 12 years old. She contributes her faith for her successful marriage and parenting.

10. Books and Production Company

Candace has written several memoir-style books and six children's books. Her two latest books are: Candace Center Stage published in 2018 and Candace's Playful Puppy published in 2021.

Bure is the co-founder of Candy Rock Entertainment, a publishing company that focuses on releasing family-friendly content.
