10 Hollywood Movies That Deserve a Reboot Right Now!
A List

If you notice, Hollywood has been making remakes after remakes of its cult classic movies for many years. Every second movie is either a remake or a sequel.
For example, "Jumanji," "Aladdin," "The Little Mermaid," or the recent "Snow White" have already been remade.
So I thought, let me talk about those movies whose remake I want.
These movies have strong concepts, but either the execution fails or the release time is wrong.
I, Robot

This movie of Will Smith shows an AI-driven future. Where robots work normally among humans. Meaning, as expected, humans have made robots their servants. But a robot becomes more self-aware and starts behaving like humans.
At that time in 2004, for people, it was just a sci-fi fantasy. Meaning it had nothing to do with reality. But today, AI has made its way into our mobile apps, chatbots, and even my AC, which has an AI option.
Imagine how much more relevant and terrifying a modern remake of I, Robot could be. The rules and regulations of using AI, the dangers of AI, and the future of humanity can all be shown.
According to me, this movie was released before time. And at this time, it will make a lot of sense. This is the era when every other person is using AI in some way or the other.
John Carter

I guess every child must have heard the line, “John Carter, the warrior of the earth”. Disney’s marketing of this movie was next level. And they were also confident that this movie would earn them billions of dollars.
Despite a production cost of $300 million, the movie earned only $280 million at the box office, making it a major financial failure.
I still don’t understand the reason because the concept of the movie is very good. Sort of like the movie Superman, how Superman becomes more powerful in the atmosphere of an earthquake. Similarly, in the atmosphere of Mars, where gravity is less, a normal human, John Carter, becomes more powerful.
And in the current time, where there is talk of literally going to Mars, this movie will make a lot of sense. And with this concept, using modern VFX and technology, I guess John Carter will become a very good movie.
So, it makes complete sense to remake it.
Eragon

Now fantasy world where dragons or magic rule takes place, and a character becomes a dragon rider. I am not talking about "Game of Thrones", but this movie was released in 2006 before "Game of Thrones" came out.
The word "WOW" that comes out of the mouth of the viewers in theaters, the same came out of my mouth when I saw Eragon. However, since the film did not adapt even 10% of the original book accurately, it ended up being a failure.
But in today's time, where there is a revival of "fantasy genre", "House of the Dragon", "Game Of Thrones," "The Witcher," "How to Train Your Dragon," all these movies and shows are being made, then it is worth giving another chance to Eragon.
And watching dragons on screen with the current VFX will be a different experience. So remake this movie.
Chappie

A robot that learns, feels, and evolves like a child. The idea was brilliant. It was fun to watch the movie, but the execution was confusing.
In the process of showing all kinds of emotions in the movie, the audience was not able to experience anything properly. The result of which was the failure of this movie. But yes, an outstanding remake can be made now with the same idea and the same characters.
I expect that the remake of this movie should cover a little serious and dark tone. Especially at this time when many companies are trying to make such robots in real life.
Inkheart

Now, look, this is a very underrated movie of one of my favorite actors, Brendan Fraser. And literally, very few people have seen this movie.
This movie was released in 2008. And it got buried somewhere amidst the hype of Brendan Fraser's other movies like "Mummy 3" and "Journey to the Center of the Earth". Because all three movies were released in 2008.
When the lead character of the movie reads the book, the characters in it come into the real world. That means the concept of literal reading is magic. But that sense of wonder and danger both were missing in the movie.
The movie lags a bit due to a very flat screenplay, but if the same concept is used and a remake is done now with Harry Potter-level detail or Stranger Things tone, then it can become a huge franchise.
Full of imagination, adventure, or emotional depth, a perfect magical movie. I would suggest that if you haven't watched Inkheart yet, then definitely think of trying it once.
Gulliver's Travels

Now I probably don't need to tell much about it. Everyone is already aware that this is a classic Jonathan Swift story, which Jack Black adapted to show his version. We Indian fans had already seen its Indian adaptation in 2003 with Jajantaram Mamantaram. But if you notice now, it has been a long time. And this story has not received a single new adaptation.
By the way, people do not know that Jonathan Swift wrote four different stories in Gulliver's Travels in which Gulliver travels to different islands. The most popular story, which we all know, is how he goes to the island of Lilliputs, and he is a giant. Similarly, he travels to an island where everyone is a giant like him, and he is smaller than them.
So yes, a proper franchise can be made from a proper remake of Gulliver's Travels. Where we can see Gulliver's adventures.
Jumper

This is a movie that comes with a very unique concept. Some people in the movie are called jumpers who have superpowers of teleportation. Which means that they can teleport to any location they can see just by blinking. And the whole movie is based around this, and according to current standards, the concept of Jumper still sounds mind-blowing.
The only problem here in this movie was that the story was half-baked and the characters were weak. In today's time, if it is made in the format of a serious sci-fi movie where teleportation is used in a better way, then this movie can still work.
Anyway, among so many superhero movies, teleportation is such a superpower that keeping it in the center, the story is almost negligible.
Percy Jackson
Greek Mythology plus modern teen heroes equals a perfect recipe. Or Percy Jackson's story is proof of this, but only in the books. The popularity and cult following it should have gotten in the live-action adaptation has not been achieved yet.
Even after talking about Disney Plus's series and movies, the original Percy Jackson movies did not treat the source material properly. Yes, two of its movies have definitely come but neither of them was liked by critics nor the audience.
Although Alexandra Daddario was in the movie, it was enough for me. But yes, if this movie is remade now with the right vision and correct adaptation, then this franchise can gain a fandom like Harry Potter.
Hancock

A superhero who is a drinker, careless, and not a public favorite, helps everyone, but the public does not want his help. How strange, how bad he must feel.
What a unique idea it was, personally, I loved this movie. Even though this movie rocked the box office, the critics thrashed the movie. One of the reasons was that its ending suddenly takes a sudden shift, which can be said that the story gets impacted.
The climax does not work. The tone shifts from comedy to a mythological twist, and the audience gets confused.
Today, when the audience enjoys the content of anti-heroes like "The Boys," "Invincible," the remake or reboot of Hancock can become a gritty R-rated superhero drama.
It is the perfect time to explore this character again. To bring him back into the limelight. Either make a remake or a sequel because the potential is very high. And with time, it has already become a classic superhero movie.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Now, see, all the people who have seen this movie or whoever I have interacted with, they like it. And according to me, such a successful video game franchise as Prince of Persia, this movie also adapts very well.
But the reason for its failure was controversy. Where foreigners got offended that, since when did the Prince of Persia become a white American. But if you search on the internet, even people from the Middle East were not offended by this character.
Meaning, those who were represented were not offended. But other people were getting offended on their behalf. And this became the reason for the failure of this movie.
The movie, based on a hit video game, is visually stunning and offers a great experience. And if it is remade today, when movies based on games are becoming so successful, then there is no doubt that it will become a super hit.
The time of Sands of Time can come now.
Conclusion
So yes, this was my list of 10 movies whose remakes can work at present. Which three of these movies do you want to be remade? Do tell in the comments. Or do you have any personal favorites of your own?
