As we enter the month of December, everyone is looking forward to that important holiday that represents fellowship and joy: Christmas. Christmas decorations are put up in the stores on the streets and by the residents on the roadside, and the festive atmosphere grows just a little bit stronger. We all prepare for the reunion with our families with delicious meals, exquisite gifts, and activities planned for the day. Think about it: after meeting your family and enjoying a great meal, even if it's cold outside, all your worries seem to disappear as long as you're all nestled together with families and friends in the warmth of your room. At this point, why not find some exciting and happy programs to pass the time? Choose something with a theme of family, happiness, and human kindness, and let's enjoy it together on the couch, discussing the plot of the program from time to time, or just laughing along with the characters. No matter how long it takes to look back on it, it's just an unforgettable memory. Now, open up Crunchyroll and see what episodes could be added to our Christmas list. That way, we won't have to spend too much time in front of the TV trying to figure out what to watch. In this post, we've got a simple little list containing 10 anime shows for you to consider, and we hope that with them lubricated, you and your family and friends will have the best Christmas ever.

1. Tokyo Godfathers (Blu-ray/DVD)

Even a few people of completely different backgrounds and ages, or even strangers who have never met before, can form an unconventional type of family because of the occasional goodwill that is shown during the course of their time together, resulting in a family-like bond. Tokyo Godfather is just such a story where we get to see a family formed by the combination of a homeless girl, Miyuki, a tall transgender woman, Hana, and an older man, Gin, who has been a wanderer for years. And just on Christmas Eve, in order to give Miyuki a Christmas present, the trio goes through the garbage but accidentally picks up an abandoned baby with his birth certificate by his side. The main storyline is to find the parents of this abandoned baby. In the end, the child finds his real parents, and all three are redeemed. This is a fairy tale created by countless coincidences, and everywhere, it shows the greatest kindness and care from the world.

Tips: This Christmas anime movie is not yet available to watch directly on Crunchyroll, but you can find a link to buy the Blu-ray in the platform's official store. If you want to watch it online, we recommend heading over to the Tubi platform. You can watch the movie on Tubi without ads.

2. Your Name.

There are many precious human emotions other than family love that are very healing. As one of the biggest themes, love endures. Out of all the entries on Crunchyroll, we chose to add your name to the slate. The movie is beautiful, to say the least, and what makes it even more famous is the wonderful story core. The body swapping across time and space between the hero and heroine gives us a different view from both worlds, and the concept of the rope knot slowly unfolds. Everything in this world is a knot, all connected in an endless flow. Eventually, he two are able to meet in the moment of sunset and reunite in Tokyo after countless times of missing. The movie has the love between the two across time and space, as well as the shock of stopping the end of the world, and the happy ending also brings the story to a successful conclusion. If you, too, want to feel the most extremely beautiful images and pure love, try watching this best 2024 Christmas movie.

3. Toradora!

Campus always seems to hold our best memories, and besides, the teenage years are one of the happiest and most nostalgic times in life, not only because then we all have teenage spirit, always boiling blood, but also because of the sweet and sour feelings of youth. If you want to feel affection, love, and friendship from the campus perspective, try watching Toradora! Here, we will see the story of Takasu Ryuji, a teenager who is fierce on the outside but pure on the inside, and Aisaka River, a dark and arrogant teenager, working together to fulfill the blueprint of love. The teenage boys and girls had planned to help each other and their crushes to make it work, but it seems that some other kind of feelings have grown between the partners. What's even more valuable is that the perspective in this drama isn't limited to the schoolyard but explores some more important issues, i.e., when love meets reality, what should the main characters choose? Toradora! can be seen as one of the best of the school romantic comedies and best Christmas movies, and certainly its original novel is well worth reading.

4. Cardcaptor Sakura

Cardcaptor Sakura is a work from the perspective of a little girl, where the seals of some magical cards are lifted as the protagonist opens a long-dusty magic book. The heroine, Sakura, has a magic wand that has captured the hearts of, I don't know, how many girls at one time or another, and the doll that accompanies it is cute enough. The Firey card from Cardcaptor Sakura burning up might bring a more interesting atmosphere to our Christmas celebration. If you were a fan of this anime when you were a kid, or if you have a child at home who is a big fan of Magical Vision, you might want to watch this Christmas movie for kids together.

5. Sword Art Online

When it comes to Christmas, how can you leave out Santa Claus? When we think of this word we always think of an amiable white-bearded grandpa, so have you ever seen an evil or scary image of Santa Claus? From The Night Santa Went Crazy to the Violent Night, it has been common to see Santa Claus portrayed as bloody and horrible, and the contrast of such images will bring a great sense of novelty to everyone. There is also such a work on Crunchyroll, namely Sword Art Online. In it, we get to see a huge image of Santa Claus wielding an axe, though he'll end up being more than dryly killed. What's not to love about a funny Christmas movie that gives us the excitement of breaking away from the traditional image?

6. My Hero Academia

In addition to Santa Claus, there is another element that we should never overlook. It is the Christmas tree. Now, there is such a work on Crunchyroll, in which the villain's skill can even turn a person into a Christmas tree, i.e., My Hero Academia. Doesn't it sound too bizarre and crazy? Then open it and see for yourself. The students in this show will, oh so, undergo intense heroic training to plunge into an all-out war.

7. One Piece

The One Piece also makes an appearance in our list of recommended films. That's because, in this one, you'll see a snow-covered forest scene and even a reindeer-drawn sleigh motif in mid-air! It's just perfect for Christmas, and with all that One Piece, why wouldn't it be one of the best gifts you can give to your audience? If you want to see this scene above, turn on this episode of Hiriluk’s Cherry Blossoms! Miracle in the Drum Rockies! It will never disappoint you.

8. MY love STORY!!

Some wonderful anime come out with holiday specials, and MY LOVE STORY!!!! is one of them. It's a story about a girl, Rinko Yamato, who falls in love with a giant, Takeo Goda, and the overall style is very warm and bright. The joy conveyed in the show is definitely a great element to ease your way through Christmas, and with the story and scenes in the Christmas special being so well-timed, we finally have a better way to pass the time than listening to Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town over and over again!

9. Kimi ni Todoke — From Me To You

The show just happens to have an episode called Christmas and the plot just happens to be about spending the holidays with family and unraveling misunderstandings in relationships. How fitting it is that we watch it on this day and that it brings more thoughts about emotional growth and romantic relationships. This Christmas movie for family is very heartwarming and definitely soothing at its best! Why not tune in with your family and partner?

10. Mr. Osomatsu

It's a story about a bunch of incompetent brothers who are keen on screwing everything up. In the Christmas Osomatsu-san episode, they don't disappoint. Even in the midst of this important holiday, they still carry on with their habit of breaking and entering into trouble, creating a nightmare for the entire world and everyone else. We get to find out what kind of things they would have messed up to bring about this result.

Wrap Up

Hopefully, you've taken inspiration from this list of programs above and decided what you're going to tune in to over the Christmas season. However, one of the drawbacks of watching online is that it can be easily affected by internet speed. If there is an unstable internet connection, then the video will constantly lag or even fail to play. This is very discouraging. So, to be on the safe side, we recommend that you first use some Crunchyroll video downloaders like CleverGet to download the video offline. This way you don't need to do any waiting no matter how much you drag the progress bar. CleverGet can help us download movies and episodes on Crunchyroll in 1080p quality. Also, we are free to choose the version of the audio track and subtitles or save the subtitles simply in SRT format. Currently, the platform offers MKV and MP4 output formats to choose from. We couldn't be more sincere in wishing you the happiest of Christmases with your own family, friends, and loved ones and making this time one of the most precious memories.
