How Big Is Forza Horizon 6? Predicting the Game Size

From FH1 to FH5, here’s my personal journey through every map and what it tells us about the massive world of Forza Horizon 6.

With Forza Horizon 6 becoming one of the most anticipated racing games ever, one question stands out more than anything: “How big is Forza Horizon 6 going to be?”

While the game has not been officially released yet, we can make smart predictions based on the evolution of the Horizon series. And after playing Forza Horizon 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 for years, I’ve seen how each world has grown in size, detail, and freedom.

Here’s a step-by-step experience-based breakdown of how the Horizon maps evolved—and what that tells us about the size of Forza Horizon 6.

1. Forza Horizon 1 – The Beginning of the Open Road

When Forza Horizon launched in 2012, the map was set in Colorado, and at the time it felt huge. But looking back now, the map was actually quite small compared to later games.

My experience:

The map felt dense rather than wide.

The roads were fun but limited.

It was the first time we experienced a “Horizon Festival,” so everything felt new and exciting.

But compared to modern open-world racers, FH1 is tiny.

This was the foundation—but only the beginning.

2. Forza Horizon 2 – Bigger, Brighter, More Freedom

Then came Southern Europe (France + Italy) in Forza Horizon 2, and everything expanded.

What I felt playing FH2:

The world almost doubled in size from FH1.

More off-road freedom, vineyards, cliffs, coastal towns.

The weather system made the world feel more alive.

Roads had more personality and variety.

For the first time, I felt like Forza Horizon was truly becoming the leader of open-world racing.

3. Forza Horizon 3 – The First Massive Leap

Forza Horizon 3 set in Australia was the moment the series went from “big” to truly huge.

My experience in FH3:

One of the largest and most diverse maps in the entire series.

Beaches, deserts, rainforests, cities—everything in one place.

Off-roading became a major part of the game.

This was the first Horizon map where I got lost (in a good way).

Compared to FH1, FH3 felt like three times bigger.

This growth pattern is why expectations for FH6 are sky-high.

4. Forza Horizon 4 – Connected, Dynamic, Ever-Changing

Then came Forza Horizon 4 in the UK, which introduced seasons and made the world feel enormous without expanding its physical size too much.

What I noticed:

The map wasn't the biggest, but it felt huge because of the changing seasons.

Each season completely transformed routes, shortcuts, and scenery.

The online-connected world added life everywhere.

FH4 taught us that size isn’t just about kilometers—it's about variety.

5. Forza Horizon 5 – The Largest, Most Detailed Map So Far

Mexico in Forza Horizon 5 is officially the largest map in the series to date.

My experience in FH5:

The scale is massive—you can drive for minutes without hitting a city or boundary.

Volcanoes, jungles, deserts, beaches, ancient ruins—FH5 has it all.

The detail level jumped higher than any previous entry.

FH5 felt like a true open-world racing continent.

If FH5 is the benchmark, Forza Horizon 6 has a lot to live up to.

So… How Big Will Forza Horizon 6 Be?

Although nothing official has been released yet, the most realistic expectations are:

1. Larger Than Forza Horizon 5

Given the series’ history, it's almost guaranteed FH6 will be bigger in land area or more diverse in environments.

2. More Vertical and Dynamic

FH5 brought a volcano—FH6 may go even further with mountains, valleys, canyons, or layered environments.

3. More Detail and Density

Expect not just a bigger map, but a busier and richer one.

4. Better off-road terrain and more connected routes

Playground Games constantly improves exploration, so FH6 might include:

More hidden paths

More dirt routes

More extreme landscapes

Possibly larger cities

5. Evolving or changing world

Inspired by FH4’s seasons, FH6 might introduce:

Weather systems that affect the map

Time-based world changes

Festival expansions across the world

My Prediction for FH6 Map Size

Based on the pattern from FH1 to FH5:

👉 Forza Horizon 6 will likely be the LARGEST map in the entire franchise, possibly 20–30% bigger than FH5, or equally large but with far more verticality and detail.

The series has never gone backward in size—only forward in ambition.

Final Thoughts: The Future of Horizon Worlds

From FH1’s small Colorado festival to FH5’s massive version of Mexico, each Horizon game has pushed boundaries. As a long-time player of every entry, I’m confident that Forza Horizon 6 will raise the bar again.

The map may not just be “bigger”—it could be:

More alive

More dynamic

More vertical

More detailed

And more immersive than anything we’ve driven in before

Until official announcements arrive, all we can do is watch the Horizon—and get ready.
