Flash Of Light

Lightbulb Moments

Introduction

Something happened, nothing major, this morning, that made me think about how we are often in places where we can't see a solution, and suddenly something unexpected reveals the answer or the way to go.

I play three word games daily that I have documented here:

This morning's revelation came from Weaver.

The music is "Kiss Of Light" by Be Bop Deluxe.

Revelation

With Quordle and Wordle, there is no going back once you have played a line, but Weaver allows you to go back and try new solutions. Since I have started on Weaver, I have never failed to complete it, the closest being when I have had a difficult one and then give it a break, and forget about it and the next one drops.

One annoying thing is that it does not allow potential rude but real words. Today's disallowed word was PRICK, which is what I do to myself three times a day when I inject my insulin. COCK and PUSSY are two more. I am just wondering where this post should be in the Vocal FILTHY or HUMOR communities.

Anyway, today's WEAVER was CHECK to POINT, changing one letter at a time to create a new word. I kept trying and could not see a solution, then I got STINK, which led to STINT and from there you can work out the solution easily, well, I could.

This happens so much in life. Sometimes, I get lost when I am walking, and even if I have a phone signal, that sometimes leads me astray, but eventually, I will see or hear something that puts me right, and sometimes it is just asking someone you might know what you are looking for to help you.

When I work, I often ask people for advice. When I first started in IT, it was manuals, but now it is finding information online, which is how I taught myself to use Excel and other calculation software. There are often times when I cannot see a solution, but I keep trying, and something flashes up, and I then have my solution.

People usually think I know how to do things. I don't, but I know how to find out how to do things.

Three months ago, I was unable to publish on Vocal. The first thing I did was reactivate my backup Vocal account and use that for publishing, but then I worked with Vocal tech guys to find out what the problem was and what the solution would be.

We found out that there was a three thousand publication limit for all Vocal Creators, which even they were unaware of. It must have been a system default, and we know how annoying they can be at times.

Vocal removed the limit, so users can now safely approach the three thousand publication mark and pass it. If you publish three stories a day, you will hit the three thousand mark in three years.

I thanked them for it here:

I actually started using my Vocal Stories to publish a book, and I have had to learn a lot in that journey:

This is where it started:

And this is where I am now:

Conclusion

My journey is full of these moments, and when they happen, I learn from them and apply them to what I do in the future. I admit that sometimes, the lesson is :

"Don't Do That Again"

More often it is:

"Wow, that is brilliant and makes what I am doing so much easier"

Thank you for reading, and I hope that I have given you some good pointers in your creative processes.

So many words have several meanings. Usually, there are a couple of valid definitions, and then there is one definition that no one talks about freely. Some though clearly have only one meaning, if you know what I mean 😉😉😉

I can only say that *I* laughed when you talked about whether this should be in Filthy or Humor. So I'd vote for Humor. And it seems like "prick" went out of style a long time ago in America, in favor of "dick". Do people in English consider "prick" dirty? I'm with you! A prick is what you can expect from a cactus, not between two legs. 😂 I didn't know about that word limit either!! Cool observations, Mike.

Loving it thank You for this beautiful sharing and yes it's great ability to always find solution even if some does take some struggle and some just arrive out of nowhere 😊🌞🌸there is always a Light and Love and peace to start from ❤️Have a wonderful day !

Everyone seems to like Wordle a lot. I haven't heard of Weaver. I might have to at least take a look at that one. I'm still playing babble when I remember/get too stressed. I think I paid $2 for it ten years ago and that's it. I hate all the micropayments, everything has now.

" ... we are often in places where we can't see a solution, and suddenly something unexpected reveals the answer or the way to go." Yes! I have some of those moments and they are so revealing. What I always think is "how I didn't think about this before." But that's how it goes. Perhaps it's a question of timing. I didn't know you were compiling your stories into books! How wonderful! :D
