Bad News For Wishy-Washy Over Migration.

GB News Poll Shows Voters Upset and Angry.

British Prime Minister: Rishi Sunak.

Mr. Sunak as he has taken up a position as the UK's third Prime Minister will be dealing with a hefty intray. Of course, there's the Ukraine-Russia war, energy bills and costs in general skyrocketing, and of course, migration.

Right now it's migration that is giving the Prime Minister the biggest headache. 40,000 migrants have crossed the channel this year outstripping 2021. Last year that number was just 21,526 still a huge number mind you. For some reason, this year, the numbers have increased dramatically and numerically. Evidently, the threatened expulsion to Rwanda has done nothing to put off migrants. The plan signed by the last Home Secretary Priti Patel and her Rwandan counterpart has not flown (if you forgive the pun). Courts blocked the trip to Rwanda and the aircraft has remained grounded ever since.

Re-appointed Home Secretary Suella Braverman said, "England is facing an invasion". Referencing the tide of humanity sweeping across the channel. Labour and others were quick to label her words as "inflammatory". Most of the migrants crossing the busiest sea lane in the world are Albanian. The Albanian Prime Minister urged Brits to show kindness to his people arriving on the UK's shores. Perhaps Ms. Braverman's words could have been tempered. However, if you live on the Kent coast where many people are turning up it must seem like that.

Ms. Braverman is visiting the Manston detention centre where many a migrant is being housed. Stories of unsanitary conditions have been pouring out of the camp. Ms. Braverman has been ferrying migrants by coach to more suitable accommodations in hotels. However, even housing people in hotels is also a bone contention for local people. Obviously, some of the resentment toward migrants could be xenophobic. However, when you see unfettered boats carrying migrants coming to England it's natural for locals to be alarmed.

The government has spent thousands on clamping down on migrants on the French side. Yet, more people are coming to our shores than ever. The French don't care why would they? As soon as the migrant boats are out of French waters it's a "Bon voyage" and "don't come back"! The French can relax and let the Brits have all the headaches of dealing with them.

Meanwhile, British patrol vessels pick people up in the channel and bring them ashore. The migrants are housed temporarily in camps or hotels. Whether they are allowed to start a new life here is dependent on many factors. For example, do they have relatives here? Which will obviously increase their chance of remaining? If not in theory they should be deported to whence they came from. As harsh as the Rwanda policy may seem another country to export migrants is a good idea. As long as the transportation methods are humane and those people taken to that country are safe. Whether Rwanda is a safe place divides opinion and is an open question still.

Patel as Home Secretary looked at various ways to transport illegals out of the UK. Such as Ascension Island in the Atlantic and St Helena also in the Atlantic. None of these ideas saw the light of day and were quietly dropped. Australia had a similar problem with migrants but Australia sent out its navy. To confront and turn back migrants before they were able to land in Australia. Eventually, Australia did a deal with Papua New Guinea to resettle migrants and start a new life there.

The UK obviously has tried to take a leaf from the Australians in how they handled their migrant crisis. A solution must be sought, however, for the good of the migrants and resentful Brits.

Many rightly feel that the UK has lost control of its borders. When Britain left the EU we were told we would control who came into our country. With migrants coming to the UK unfettered that statement was a fantasy.

Sir Keir Starmer accused Mr. Sunak of losing control of the UK's borders. Also, adding that he had done a "grubby deal" in re-appointing Suella Braverman after the email fiasco.

The Labour party remains despite the rise of Wishy-Washy Rishi 16 points ahead of the Tories. Tory-supporting GB News questioned 1,212 people if this was the reason why the Tories are doing so badly. The answer from these people a supposed balanced proportion of British people said "yes".

Sunak is coming under pressure to act on the migration issue. Sunak accused Truss of u-turns and he has already done one himself. Originally Sunak said he was too busy to attend Cop 27 now suddenly he's changed his mind.

Sir Keir said, "migrants must be processed quicker rather than languishing in camps or hotels". This would determine who could stay and who could not. A method must be found permanently to stop migrants from making a hazardous journey in unseaworthy craft". Also, Sir Keir added, "that criminal gangs who exploit migrants should also be dealt with".
