The Time Code: When Scientists Unlocked the Secret of Time Travel

A Flickering Reality

Elias's breath came in short, panicked gasps. The small metallic sphere on his desk glowed faintly, pulsating with an eerie blue light. It was identical to the one he had sent through time.

His fingers trembled as he reached out, touching the surface. It was warm. Too warm. As though it had just passed through the quantum fabric of space-time.

Had he failed?

Or was something—or someone—tampering with time again?

Before he could react, a voice spoke from the doorway.

"Dr. Murad. We need to talk."

Elias turned sharply, his heart pounding. A tall man in a sleek black suit stood at the entrance, his expression unreadable. He held a small device in his hand—one that Elias instantly recognized.

It was a Chrono Beacon—a tool designed by the Timekeepers.

This man had come from the future.

The Visitor from Tomorrow

Elias clenched his fists. "Who are you?"

The stranger took a slow step forward. "My name is Agent Zero. And thanks to you, time is unraveling."

Elias's mind raced. "Unraveling? But I destroyed Tempus-X. I erased time travel!"

Agent Zero shook his head. "You erased your version of it. But time is not a single thread, Dr. Murad. It’s a woven tapestry. Someone else picked up where you left off."

Elias swallowed hard. "Who?"

Agent Zero’s face darkened. "You."

The Paradox That Shouldn’t Exist

Elias’s pulse pounded in his ears. "What do you mean, me? That’s impossible!"

Zero placed the Chrono Beacon on the desk. A holographic display flickered to life, showing surveillance footage from a future Elias—a version of himself standing in a high-tech laboratory, surrounded by machines even more advanced than Tempus-X.

"The Elias Murad from another timeline didn’t stop," Zero explained. "He perfected time travel. He built something called the Eternity Gate."

Elias’s stomach twisted.

The Eternity Gate.

It was a theoretical concept he had only ever sketched in notes—a stable, unbreakable time portal that could remain open forever.

But if another version of him had built it…

Then time wasn’t just broken. It was trapped in an endless loop.

The Mission: Fixing the Unfixable

"You need to stop yourself," Zero said. "Before the Eternity Gate becomes permanent."

Elias let out a bitter laugh. "So, let me get this straight. I have to travel into the future to kill… myself?"

Zero’s expression was grim. "Not kill. But prevent him from activating the final sequence. If he does, time travel will become irreversible. The past, present, and future will collapse into one infinite moment."

Elias’s hands balled into fists.

He had tried to erase time travel.

Now, he had to erase himself.

Journey to the End of Time

Zero activated the Chrono Beacon. A vortex of swirling blue and silver light engulfed the room.

Elias took one last breath—and stepped through.

Year: 2165.

He emerged in a laboratory far more advanced than the one he had left behind.

Towering quantum servers lined the walls, pulsating with golden energy. At the center of the room stood a massive, glowing archway—the Eternity Gate.

And standing before it… was himself.

The older Elias, clad in a sleek black exo-suit, turned slowly. His eyes burned with intelligence and something darker—obsession.

"I was expecting you."

Elias vs. Elias: The Final Stand

"You don’t understand what you’re doing!" Elias shouted.

The future Elias smirked. "Oh, but I do. You think you can erase time travel? You think small. I think beyond."

He gestured toward the Eternity Gate. "This isn’t just about traveling through time. This is about transcending it. Becoming infinite. Becoming—"

Elias lunged.

Their bodies collided, sending them tumbling across the lab.

The future Elias was stronger, faster—enhanced by years of technological advancements. He threw Elias off, slamming him against a control panel.

"You’re weak," the future Elias sneered. "That’s why you failed. But I? I will become time itself."

Elias gritted his teeth. "Not if I stop you."

Destroying the Eternity Gate

Zero’s voice crackled through Elias’s earpiece. "You need to overload the system. Target the core!"

Elias staggered to his feet, eyes scanning the lab. Then he saw it—a containment unit pulsing with unstable chronon particles.

The power source of the Eternity Gate.

That was the key.

He sprinted toward it—but the future Elias grabbed him, wrenching him back. "No!"

They struggled.

The future Elias reached for a weapon—a phase disruptor capable of erasing Elias from existence.

But Elias was faster.

He slammed his fist into the control panel, triggering an emergency purge sequence.

Alarms blared. The containment unit cracked, energy spilling into the lab.

The Eternity Gate began to collapse.

The Final Choice

The future Elias’s face twisted in fury. "You fool! You don’t understand what you’re doing!"

Elias met his gaze. "I do. I’m saving time from you."

A massive shockwave erupted.

The last thing Elias saw was the Eternity Gate imploding, swallowing the future Elias in a vortex of collapsing time.

Then—darkness.

The End… or the Beginning?

Elias awoke back in his original timeline.

The lab was intact. The monitors displayed the date:

December 2nd, 2025.

Tempus-X was gone.

There was no sign of the Eternity Gate.

No sign of the future Elias.

For the first time in years, time travel was truly erased.

But as Elias turned to leave, he noticed something strange.

The metallic sphere was still on his desk.

It pulsed with a faint, golden glow.

As though time itself had left a scar.

Elias exhaled. "Some things… refuse to be erased."

And somewhere, in the depths of time, something watched.

Waiting.
