Who am I for the next seven years?
On a whim, I signed up for an interpretation class. One of the teachers was about 30 years old. She was very beautiful, dressed in fashion, and had great interpretation skills. Later, she learned that she majored in history in college and was a public relations manager in a company. Her son was five years old, so she had to go to work, do housework and take care of the child every day. Different from us, she has the second-level interpretation certificate of the Personnel Department, has the task of translating conferences everywhere every month, and doubles as the tutor of this interpretation center. Open her blog, has updated more than 500 pages, there are more than 2000 posts, all are her own interpretation practice every day, an average of two long and a short article, she insisted on doing this for nearly 10 years, she is not a professional background because of her love of English and has been working hard. I admired her and she said that 10 years ago, she had read a survey report that a person needs to practice for 10,000 hours without a break to master a skill and become an expert. At the time, she calculated that it would take seven years for someone to master the skill if they practiced five hours a day, 300 days a year. 'Fortunately, I know what I want to do,' she says. 'I just have to hit the floor. I don't have five hours, I can only study three hours a day. But why do you work as a civil servant for 10 years and still remain a small clerk? That's because you're not putting the energy and enthusiasm into practicing a skill. I just read the newspaper and surf the Internet every day to cope with all kinds of trivial tasks, do what everyone else does, cook every day just to keep the family running, I don't look at it from a professional perspective. Don't lament the loss of major after graduation from college. If you have 12 years of schooling since junior high school, even if you learn a skill for 2 hours a day, 300 days a year, you will only have 7200 hours, there is a gap of 2800 hours. Even if you practice for 1 hour a day after graduation, you will need 10 years. Why are science and engineering students more likely to succeed? As long as they are in the right major after graduation and still do the same thing, then they are practicing 8 hours a day, those 2800 hours, only need a year to fill. But many of us, the content of work is not in the practice of skills, most of the trivial people and things, in fact, is in waste. Maybe you will say, I am ordinary, I don't want to be anyone, just want to live in peace. It's just your illusion. Time goes by, and the actions you repeat every day are shaping who you are. You don't want to be, but you are destined to be. If you spend 5 hours a day watching Korean dramas, websites and chatting, then after 7 years, you will become a spectator of life. What you are good at is talking about the success and failure of others without finding anything to say about yourself. Take a minute to think about what you most wanted to do. Then do it every day. In seven years, you will find that you can go out for a living doing it. Even if you like shopping, why don't you commit yourself to shopping for three hours a day? Maybe at the beginning you feel very happy, every day like this, you will find boring, and then stick to it, you began to think, I shopping can find something, but also can make some pattern? Keep it up, and in seven years, you could be a fashionista, an image designer, a street photographer, a clothing buyer... How do you plan to spend the next seven years, the next 10,000 hours of your life?

I can't sleep in recent evenings. I'm up all night, all day. Some days I am anxious and have no idea why, and some days I find myself having a weird feeling with no shaking it and not understanding where it is resonating. The world is burning, and everyone's losing their rights and their minds because everyone has gone too far; I can't help but feel hopeless. We have become so divided in our lives and how we treat people, we've been criminalized for opinions, feelings, constructive criticism and somehow have reached the point where walking on eggshells is a good thing. The how is quite simple, yet everyone ignores it and thinks the solution is the same people causing it. We need to go about it a different way.

A Heart of Brass
The first time I met David Scott through the lens of my tight brown leather gasmask, he was clutching a heart-shaped locket made from the brass that he had stolen off the tops of garden taps. Carefully placing it in my grasp he claimed that he melted them down, by rubbing them on his denim jeans, causing such friction that they could be moulded into the locket. “Probably should’ve taken them off first. The bugger damn near burnt my dick off” He casually joked. In reality, it was probably the constantly exacerbating heatwaves that made this possible, but I didn’t want to argue with this unhinged individual as he started loading his Antique French Flintlock Pistol. “Fucked if I know, if this shit-cunt thing still fires” he glumly moaned staring off into the blood-red sky numb to the sweltering heat of the beating sun. “What’s in the locket?” I asked him as he continued to examine his Pistol. “My bloody heart and soul of course. Means more to me than you will ever know” he exclaimed winking through his grey leather gasmask. “I’ll be careful with it then”, I replied carefully plunging the locket into the pocket of my pants. I was a tall lanky man with red hair and a beard sweating through a black pinstripe shirt with brown pants and suspenders that I was seriously regretting while he was a short bald man sweating through his rose-patterned white shirt with grey pants. We were in the middle of what was usually a busy highway, but today dividing the concrete monoliths of financiers and clergymen was a long asphalt track. Crowds of masked and unmasked people surrounded the edges creating makeshift barriers between the real world and the sideshow about to unfold before their very eyes. The heat apocalypse slowly but surely, killing us all seemed not to worry them as they eagerly stared at the other side of the road where Michael Brent, stood tall and broad-shouldered, in his cream-coloured shirt with a blue paisley vest and blue leather gasmask. He too was fumbling with his Antique French Flintlock Pistol. This may seem like a peculiar sight to you, but such events are commonplace at the Wernham-Miffler Institute of Hydration and Air Filtration Insurance, where workplace disputes are solved by the only efficient means possible. Pistols at dawn. My name is Keith Malone, I chronicle apocalyptic events affecting the workplace, this is my personal account of the duel that transpired.

Day 7
The first few days of when Violet was activated felt as if they took ages to end, despite the fact that it was a fantastic time. That being said, as the week is starting to trail off to the end, I feel as if time is getting faster and faster. Which is something that I do not want because the time that I am spending with her is some of the happiest moments I have had recently. The companionship and the warmth of a relationship are making me happier each day.
