Dirty Little Secret
I am not new to strange experiences. I have been steeped in the paranormal and the esoteric for as long as I can remember. But, out of all the weirdness I have experienced in my life (astral travel, premonitions, ghostly encounters, etc.) there is one phenomenon I have tried my best to pretend doesn’t exist. Who in their right mind wants to admit that they are taken from their rooms at night and subjected to untold horrors? Who wants to subject themselves to criticism and ridicule from the masses who think that people like me are kooks, looney, crazy, have lost touch with reality? It would be so much nicer to just suppress the traumas, the memories, the fears and tell yourself that there is no way it can be true.

'Doctor Who': Revisiting 'The Crimson Horror'
For some time now, there's been some chatter among Doctor Who fans for a spin-off based on the Paternoster Gang of Madame Vastra, Jenny Flint, and Strax. Nearly five years after their last on-screen appearance in "Deep Breath," such a thing has yet to appear. If such a series were to appear chances are "The Crimson Horror," aired as part of the second half of Series Seven in 2013, would be the template for such a series.

Movie Review: Solo: A Star Wars Story
After a year of behind the scenes drama that threatened to sink the project, Solo: A Star Wars Story has arrived in theaters. Famously, the directing duo of Lord and Miller were fired from Solo: A Star Wars Story following creative clashes with producer Kathleen Kennedy and screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan. Ron Howard was brought in to salvage the project and wound up reshooting most of the movie.

Brutalist Stories #58
“You wanna be scared?” the major asked, walking along the wall of concrete, pock marked and bitten with time and war. Bullet holes the size of fists, the crumbling grey matter lay strewn all around with a line of his troops knelt in front, their eyes closed, deep in the middle of their litany before the storm of battle was about to start.

How ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Fails to Capture the Ethos of the Franchise
Han Solo, intergalactic smuggler and sometime rebel hero, is an icon of science-fiction cinema loved by many around the world. Yes, aspects of his personality are problematic, but fans have either chosen to ignore them or have accepted them as just a(nother) troubling inclusion in the beloved franchise. Like most Star Wars heroes, Solo’s origins are shrouded in mystery. But, in the hands of Disney, no character is safe from an origin story. Solo is just the beginning.

How Psychic Manipulation Actually Works
This is a psychic talent that is rarely discussed out in the open, but my goal is to change that since I want to write a whole book on psychic attack. Plain old, ordinary manipulation is about feelings. A manipulator extracts the types of feelings they want. Empaths who have this ability are doing it because they feel people’s emotions. When somebody employs brainwashing or manipulation, they say something like, “I need you to feel a certain way or I need you to think a certain way.” Somebody with a weak will is easy to manipulate. Some people with this ability seek to destroy others for personal gain.

This morning I was normal. This morning I was a different person. This morning I had had some semblance of a life. I had a past with friends, family. I had a future with a job and a girl and all the other shit that goes along with that. Now, none of it matters, but what else could I have done? There wasn’t anything else, so when they came knocking, I saw in their eyes what they were there for, who they were there for, but he’s my brother, so what am I supposed to do, just give them his neo-coding? Just hand him over to them? Say, "Oh yeah, here’s the bloodline teli-sync that you’re looking for. Why don’t you just hack straight into his god-damn neocortex and wipe his consciousness out of existence?"
