Humans vs AI
I asked ChatGPT about the myth: Should we be afraid?
Hi people!
One of our biggest fears nowadays is artificial intelligence, also known as AI, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. Robots are getting terribly strong and independent indeed, making some of us believe, that one day they'll turn against humans and stab us in the back. But is it actually possible, or is this scary myth just simply baseless?
Today I had this idea and asked ChatGPT about its point of the view. I know that they aren't capable of predicting the future, but sometimes it's great to play with the thoughts and just see how things work.
So I opened ChatGPT and asked the straightforward question:
"Do you think robots will eventually take over the Earth?"
And at first I got a complex, scientific answer from AI, as we've thought, including several perspectives and studies on the topic, listing some factors too. However there were a few lines, that are worth inserting here:
About increased unemployments:
"Robots and AI could potentially disrupt job markets by replacing certain types of work. This displacement could lead to economic challenges and require significant adaptation, such as retraining programs and changes to social safety nets. However, robots could also create new types of jobs and improve productivity and efficiency."
About successful human-robot cooperation:
"Many experts believe that the future will be one of human-robot collaboration rather than domination. Robots can augment human abilities, performing tasks that are dangerous, repetitive, or beyond human capabilities. This collaboration can lead to a more efficient and innovative society."
About the myths:
"Popular culture often depicts dystopian scenarios where robots or AI take over the world, leading to human subjugation or extinction. While these scenarios are compelling for storytelling, they are generally considered unlikely by most experts in the field. The development and implementation of robust ethical guidelines and regulatory frameworks can help mitigate these risks."

After all that I asked ChatGPT for a shorter summary about its opinion and I got this answer:
"I don't believe robots will take over the Earth in a dystopian way. While they are advancing quickly and could change many jobs and industries, proper regulation and ethical development can ensure they benefit society. The future likely involves humans and robots working together, enhancing our capabilities rather than replacing us. With careful management, robots can be valuable tools, not threats."
And that's it! These myths circulating around really got me thinking about the future... But after spending some time on analyzing the odds, I can bravely state that we're still far away from the "robots-taking-over" condition. After all AI cannot have goals, like humans do, as robots are programmed and do not have free will. And after they'd overcome humanity, what would be next? Would they take over other planets? Or would they plan on spreading and colonize the whole universe? Could they even reach out every point of the universe? But these are all just pointless questions and what-ifs. Or are they not?

AI does not scare me at all. I highly doubt robots or AI will ever take over. It will still take humans to control them. As for taking over our jobs - that is a myth. It might change the workforce some but I think eventually AI will create many more job opportunities than it takes away. Great article.
We all know the great films like Terminator, Matrix, Oblivion etc. I always say, in all time we have to ensure the red swich is on place and it must be reachable for human beeing in case of need...
Defiantly interesting food for thought! Thanks for sharing this
Oh man, I was wishing they'd take over and get rid of all of us, lol
Learnt few things here , I think Ai can only be used as a helping tools ,no way should we fear machines , we feed data to run Humans handles the light ,built satellite, and controls the world, ain't no way Ai will outsmart us either they overwrite their Code or not . We will overcome anyday, anytime
I think AI is fine for documentation and for asking questions for ideas, but I see so many AI articles that it just annoys me. To me it is like 3D movies , it is a passing fad. AI is artificial but not intelligent. Some excellent points to ponder
