How the Quiz Works
On our erotic blog lustnerd.com we recently published a sex quiz for couples that straight, gay and lesbian couples can take for free.
The Sex Quiz is a free online test designed to help partners explore their shared sexual interests in a safe, private, and judgment-free way. The quiz includes up to 175 questions across 10 intimate topics—ranging from romantic basics to extreme kinks—so couples can discover new things about each other.
Users can choose their quiz intensity by selecting one of three levels: Vanilla (Level 1), Kinky (Level 2), or Hardcore (Level 3). The quiz is tailored based on couple type (straight, gay, lesbian), and partners can skip any questions they’re not comfortable with.
Crucially, the results only show mutual matches—if one person answers “Yes” or “Maybe” but the other says “No,” the question is hidden from the final report. This keeps sensitive answers private while highlighting only the shared interests.
To take the quiz, one person starts by generating two links—one for their partner and one for themselves. Both partners must use their specific link to sync answers correctly. After both have completed the quiz, they receive a summary showing their match percentage and all questions they agreed on, completely free of charge. There's no sign-up, no payment, and no upsell. It typically takes between 5 and 15 minutes, depending on how many questions are answered.
General Stats From The Quiz
Since launching the sex quiz, over 2,400 couples have taken the test. Of these, 64% chose Level 3 (Hardcore), 24% went with Level 2 (Kinky), and only 12% selected Level 1 (Vanilla).
On average, couples reached an 83% compatibility score, which includes all questions where both partners gave the same response—either “Yes,” or “Maybe,” and it also includes the questions where both partners said “No.” (Essentially agreed they are both not interested).
The average rate of positive matches—where both partners said “Yes” or “Maybe” to the same question—was 67%, based only on the questions both actually answered.
While 83% compatibility might sound surprisingly high, there’s a reason: the quiz begins with simple, often unspoken questions that many people agree on but may never discuss out loud. For instance, a question like “Do you want more sex?” tends to get a high agreement rate, but we still have to include it since many people feel too shy to actually express that desire in the relationship.
The 10 Questions Couples Agreed On The Most:
Some questions almost 70-80% of couples agreed on. Many of them are not surprising:
- Have sex multiple rounds?
- Have sex more often?
- Have morning sex?
- Initiate sex more often yourself?
- Receive oral sex more often from your partner ?
- Dirty talk with your partner?
- Wake your partner up with oral sex?
- Have your partner initiate sex more often?
- Give your partner oral sex more often?
- Bend your partner over the couch?
The 10 Questions Both Partners Of A Couple Said No To:
There were a couple of questions that stud out as one's couples said no to the most:
- Cross dress?
- Have your partner cross dress?
- Do you want to suck on your partner's toes?
- Try out Pet Play?
- Do anime roleplay?
- Do you want to suck on your toes?
- Go to a strip club together?
- Watch your partner have sex with someone else?
- Try out age play?
- Fisting on your partner?
Surprising Results
There were 2 questions I personally was quite surprised by. 41% of couples who saw the question "Engage in consensual non-consent?" agreed on trying it. To those who do not know what that means - it essentially means 41% of couples want to try r@pe play. While this is a consensual sexual act and therefore nothing wrong with it, it still is quite an extreme one and something that surprised me.
Another one that stood out to me is that 55% of couples want to film a sex tape. Happy filming I guess!
Straight, Gay & Lesbian Couples - A Statistical Comparison
When I looked at how compatible straight vs gay vs lesbian couples are, I did not expect much of a difference, but boy I was surprised quite a bit after evaluating the data.
My (wrong) assumptions: I wrongly assumed that gay and lesbian couples would be more compatible than straight couples.
The data: showed that straight couples had almost the same average of compatibility as gay couples. And lesbian couples were on average 10-15% less compatible than gay or straight couples.
I want to note that our questions are adjusted to each relationship type. If a couple indicates at the beginning of the quiz that they are lesbian, certain questions will not show and other questions such as scissoring, etc. will show. Additionally, all percentages are adjusted to the new number of questions.
Key Takeaways
The sex quiz from lustnerd offers couples a safe and judgment-free way to explore their shared desires and boundaries, helping spark honest conversations that might otherwise remain unspoken. Because the quiz only reveals answers both partners agree on, it protects individual privacy and reduces embarrassment—encouraging openness without fear of judgment. This approach makes it a valuable tool for couples to learn what they truly have in common and where they might want to explore further or compromise. Research consistently shows that sexual compatibility and open communication about sex are key factors in relationship satisfaction and longevity. By taking this quiz, couples gain insights that can strengthen their connection and intimacy, making it a practical resource for couples at any stage of their relationship.
