When The Rain Comes
There You Are
It was like a trance enveloped her, as she traced the path of the raindrops, cascading down the window, finding its resting place.
A surge of peace passed through her as she watched the lightning flashing through the clouds. Tingles covered her, as goosebumps climbed to the surface, waiting for the thunder to follow.
It was the very same scene the night she lost him.
She imagines the rain as as his breath, caressing her skin, the lightning, his fingertips, reaching to pull her in. And the thunder, his boisterous laugh.
The one reminding her that he was.

This was so sad but very beautiful!
Your poem transcends sorrow with beauty. That's art at its best.
Melancholy and lovely💙Anneliese
This is heartbreaking, but beautiful, Kelli!
To take the beauty of watching the rain through the window & transcend it to the sacramental memory of a loved one lost. I'm heartbroken.
