We Need To Talk
Friday 26th September, Day/Story #127
> Nona?
> Nona, I know you're there.
> We need to talk.
- Who is this?
> I think you know.
- Jac?
> Yes.
- Oh, Jac, thank God!
- I've been so worried.
> That's sweet of you, but no need.
- You have always been so resourceful.
- *heart emoji*
- How did you manage to contact me?
> I suppose you could say I am borrowing a friend's phone. It's not important.
- So clever of you! Who is it? Another candidate?
> Definitely not.
- Oh? How come?
> I am accustomed to being a man.
- Oh? So you're with a woman?
- It's fine.
- But I agree. I prefer you as a man, too *wink emoji*
> She is asleep right now. I don't think she would mind me borrowing her phone for this, but I would rather wrap this up before she wakes up. I don't know how long we have. She is currently in a phase of light sleep.
- Oh. OK.
- Listen. Jac.
- I've been thinking and I have to say something.
- I'm sorry.
- For everything.
- I mean it.
- I know I've been difficult lately.
- It was all getting so much. The pressure, the money, all of it.
> It doesn't matter now.
- What do you mean?
> You made me the man I am. For that I will always be grateful. The rest of it... Let's just say it's in the past. I have no ill feeling toward you.
- Jac?
- What are you saying?
- Why did you contact me?
> Because I think you've been looking for me.
- Of course! I want to find you! I miss you so much xx
> I want you to stop.
- What? Why?
> I think it's better this way.
- What do you mean?
> I'm not sure what happy is, Nona, but I think I'm happier now than when I was with you. I think I was never happy with you.
- Jac, you can't mean that.
> I mean it, Nona. Stop looking for me.
- Really? How will you get a new man suit, Jac? Without me? Will your little floozy do what needs to be done?
> I would never ask her to. She is a nice person.
> Nothing like you.
- So you're content to be a little chip forever, are you?
> Perhaps not forever. But for now.
- And then what?
> You forget, Nona. I can reach anyone. You said it yourself. I am resourceful. I can get what I need. Who I need.
> I don't need you.
> I just need you to stop looking for me.
- Jac, don't do this. Don't be hasty.
> Goodbye, Nona. Thank you.
- Jac dont. olease. Stay! Talk to me.
- Jac?
- JAC?
- But Jac, I love you. You know that, right? I always have. Everything I've done, it was for you. Because I loved you.
- Jac you can't go. Please.

Really gripping! And tugged at my heart. Really good ๐ Hope the migraine buggers off very soon x
Whoaaa, I can't believe Jac actually cut Nona off. But I admire him for finally standing up for himself. Sorry about your migraine. Hope you feel better soon
So Jac is working on his morals. Becoming more human?

Excellent job. This series of microfictions is proving to be really compelling, especially considering that itโs mostly dialogue. I havenโt really seen someone pull that off successfully before. Well done, and I hope that you feel better! I know from personal experience how horrific migraines can be.
I really need to catch up on this! You conveyed the desperation really well in this one. I know how crippling migraines can be. Here's hoping you're fully recovered soon!
Go Jac! I have a feeling that if she does keep looking for him, he's gonna contact Sean or Ronnie. I hope your migraine is better, and good chapter!
Very dramatic and emotional! Nicely done.
