The World Of Blender Brings A New Home

Prologue

Alex was trying to get over the shock his little sister had died. It was his fault he forget. she was on a school trip. Long and hard activity was no good for her, Leading to her having a fatal shock. He had looked after her well and kept her calm by feeding her favourite food, Pancakes.

The world was showing its anger, as massive lava storms erupted. Before he knew it, the land was giving way. He was falling into a deep crater underneath the world.

Chapter 1 – Crossing Into A World Called Blender

Alex kept dreaming of a place with an archway with a mysterious symbol that looked like the Zodiac sign of Aries. He had some kind of small object in his hands and he was taking it through the walkway and that was it.

“There is much to learn you are now in an empty world in a world you are creating. You are creating every bit of the world as you move around. At the moment you want to find a good spot to place a home you need somewhere to rest and sleep”.

A distant voice echoed. “Quickly over here this is amazing, see that tiny mountain pass. Let us climb over it to build our place to stay. It is okay Alex you are in good hands your Father trusts me I am one of the mages, I create the substance for you to survive in the air and the land follow my lead for now”.

He shrugged and looked up hopeless but he had nowhere else to be going, he was the only child and his family were stuck in No Man’s Land after the divide of the world almost a week ago. A giant lava storm tore across the world and left the two sides divided.

His trust now lied in the hands of someone he had never met. Once his father told him of a story of a wizard that had saved the world from destruction from the living dead. His power and mind were so peaceful that all, that was possessed by evil spirits became into healing energy, he connected the lifeforms together, like atoms and particles.

The tune started in the forest and it awoke with goodness, it had never seen before. Before long monks were bathing In the energy of the forest and this became the stronghold of healing the world.

Well, that was until that day when Alex did not make pancakes for his baby sister. It was the saddest moment in his life she was only 5 years old. The pain was in her heart. She was not in good health pancakes kept her going. It was her life and existence. But after the school trip everything started going wrong. He did not start the cooking. He hit the shower and when he came back.

His sister shouted “Quickly! I need pancakes, That kid Andy made me run all the way back after getting me lost. I do not feel too good”.

He at an instant came out and wrapped his towel around himself. Not today, he was 10 years old. Oh no pancakes were not even made, he headed to the kitchen but before he could his little sister had fainted.

It was his fault he kept saying, same as the reason for the whole being taken over by a lava flood, if only that day he would have fed his little sister none of this would have happened. He was in allot of doubt and regret and had no idea who to trust.

Back in his world the mage said. “Welcome, to the world of Blender”.

He looked up and viewed the scenery, it was a world he could have pictured and visioned. A world that was tranquil and quiet and full of life and energetic.

“This is one of my secrets, when you are a storyteller, you need to know how to make your story come to life. Come now do not be scared, sit next to me and feel the wonderful breeze”.

Chapter 2 – The Starting Of His New Home

Sit and mediate for a few moments I have been told about your impressive skills on computers, “Am I not, correct”?

He nodded his head and said, “computers I have never even used one before”.

“Really”, said the mage.

“Well,” you managed to hack into your School computer system and find out information about your headmaster sexually abusing students that led to him being sacked. You aided a group of students to bring down an evil and corrupt person that took advantage of the students both sexually and mentally. You rallied that group of students with the support of many Female and Male students, many of which were sexually abused by him.

“You are good at heart.” I know you are feeling guilty over your Sisters death, but there was no way of avoiding. Your sister was ill and diagnosed with an illness that meant she could never be an active person or live the life of a normal child. You can only do some do protect her and kept her from harm’s way. And that is what you must treasure, the doctors said that she would not be able to speak, walk or even make it past the age of 3.

“But of course, it was your strength and courage that kept her going.” You gave her hope, you gave her a life. You must move on, take the goodness of which you have learned and keep it growing, do not let it end in vain.

“There is much in that heart of yours, other people that will later become reliant on you. Keep going and never give up”, he said.

Alex let out a few tears, whilst the mage sat beside him, sprinkled some seeds on the floor next to him, then he said some enchantment. Then he turned to Alex.

“Alex”, he said.

“We are going to work together on this one, many people need your help. But we need something that you can use to create a home on this land. It’s time to make a computer out of pure energy”.

Alex watched as the Wizard created holographic images of different people and things, a world of communications was being opened. The energy was being opened and connecting to the world. This computer was becoming energy, energy to create new things in this world.

Now said the wizard let us fire up Blender, its essence has been fine-tuned and wired onto the computer software. Alex looked up, he instantly recognised what he was seeing. He had seen this before it was a cube object in the middle of the view.

Controlling it was no problem, his mind became the map for the keys and within no time. The keys of E for Extrude, G for Move, R for Rotate, S for Scale, were all being fixed into his head he could not believe it. X, Y, and Z were used in combination of the other keys to manipulate the coordinates of movement.

His main aim was to simply create room by room, with the four walls. He set a wall length Scale for the first room, to size on the world for that one side of wall. Then when it came to the edge of the wall, make a tiny extrusion of a small part of extension of the wall in which he would use to pull off and start the next part of the wall.

Carrying on the extrusion and scale of the wall, all the rooms were now set up now to make the floor.

Chapter 3 Blender Its Way, To Make A House

To make the Floor he placed a new Cube and Scaled it, so the Z is almost flat. Then he Scaled the X and Y accordingly to make it the whole of the House. Then he just used the technique of Loop Cut and slide by pressing Ctrl R, into each of the Rooms.

This would split up the Floor for that Room, by simply selecting the Cuts and moving them with G then X or Y. The split can be formed by sliding it along.

Then some of the Floors would have multiple Loop Cuts, coming out from another Room. He solved this by selecting the Loop Cuts and then choosing Dissolve Faces. This helped to make only one Loop Cut for each Room which then be used for the Floor.

Finally, now just the Ceiling and Roof to make. To keep it simple he added another Cube for the Ceiling and then on the Scale flattened the Z axis again. Then he just, Moved it up with G and Z then Scaled it on the X and Y, to fit the whole House again. Now he could not go inside the House, so he simply selected the Floor. Then he hid it from view. Then he rotated the view.

Then he just treated the Ceiling just as the Floor, so again as before he carefully proceeded with the Loop Cut and Slide, dividing the Ceiling for each room separately. After done he rotated his view back and unhid the Floor. Now it was all done just the Roof to go, he added one final Cube for this he then Scaled up on the X and Y to fit on the House.

Then he carefully selected an edge and used the Rip Region Tool, he just dragged the mouse around letting it form a triangular based roof. Then he simply fine-tuned this with the Move command so with G then X and Y to perfect it into place.

The most difficult challenge was going to be the Doors and Windows. He could try the Knife Tool but that could create a bit of a mess. The Loop Cut and Slide would be too excessive and wasteful but he knew there was another way for that.

A little trick, was to Subdivide the Walls, to make it into smaller sections. Then he can select the parts to put the hole through for the Window and Door. Inset with I, to make a nice Thickness and then change the Depth to pull it in.

He kept a note of the Thickness and Depth, then repeated this on both sides of the Wall. After this is done. Then change the Thickness from opposite sign, of the other side. So negative to positive or positive to negative. Then just simply select the squares where you want the hole in the Windows to be and then Delete Faces.

Then he went around the whole of the house until all the Doors and Windows were done.

Then the mage got up and said, “Excellent some decorations are in order”.

“We have to climb over the Mountain pass, to find the Teleport to Unreal”.

Alex’s Heart was pounding he had never entered the Unreal World, there was so much possibility, including powerful texturing and high quality ready-made models and artwork that could be used. In no time at all this was going to become a place to remember full of the ornaments and design he could ever imagine. A happy place to live.

Chapter 4 – The Unusual portal to Unreal Engine

Just before they sat off the Wizard said let me just take a sketch of the building, he did it with precision. Checking over to make sure. Then he said there is someone that can help us do this.

As they continued towards the mountains Alex realised the sudden chill his lungs, it was a very sharp pain. The ice around these mountains had settled for long time and the temperatures was well below -10. Suddenly a horrible thought entered his mind maybe the world he was going to go into it was not as he first imagined.

He was starting to lose his focus his mind was frozen, and his vision was becoming blurry and foggy. He felt heavy and tired and before he knew it he lost his footing and fell skidding down the mountain.

The Wizard grabbed him and lifted him pack up, just before he fell down the avalanche. “Are you okay. You seem to be knocked out cold”.

“These mountains seem more perilous then ever before, he admitted”. As he choked on his own words.

“It seems we must rest for a while.” He lifted the boy and found a safe passage where they sat on the mountain. Then he got some nearby wood and started a small camp fire, to keep them warm.

This Winter season had already come to an end, but the mountains were a killer. Something was not right. But they had to carry on and make a safe new world they wanted to.

After Days and days of travelling finally they reached the peak of the mountains, in front of them stood a ancient portal, the Wizard given it a perplexed look, he had never seen the portal so dull before. The portal was always full of life and colour and usually glowed with energy. But today it seemed dead and deserted, it gave of no life.

The wizard pointed to the portal and said. “We must be extra careful, when we step through. It seems that there is an strange energy beyond this portal. But through it they must go”.

The moment they went through the magic had started, Unreal engine opened up in all its true colours and meanings. There was the landscaping tools, the Megascans textures glowed as though they were in a Museum exhibit.

The Mannequin tour was coming to greet them. “Welcome to the world of Unreal here anything is possible. What may I help you with today”, he said.

The Wizard explained, I see he said you are making a new home and want the finest textures and decorations for your house design. “No problem at all,” he said. “Let me fire up the texture shop”.

He fired up the Texture material editor, then he pointed towards the textures and said. “What would you like”?

As they chose there selections the Mannequin, was creating the texture map nodes, connecting the normal map, with normal, the base map, with Albedo texture, the Specular map and the Roughness and Metallic maps.

Then he said. “Now what we need to do is add some UV texture co-ordinates to align the texture correctly. Have you got a design of the building”?

The wizard handed over the sketch.

The Mannequin continued, he added on the texture coordinate node and changed the value of the U and V to fit nicely for the textures. Then to multiply the tiling affect, he finally added on the multiply node as well. To give nice textures for the wallpapering and brickwork.

Chapter 5 – And The world of Unreal

Just as the Mannequin finished he said. “Is there anything I can help with?”

“We will come back, but first we want to explore into this world”.

“I see, yes please go ahead and enjoy”.

Walking through the world of Unreal engine was so rich and full, it was an toolset for any computer designer to deluge into it. It was full of neatly stacked clothing with hundreds of accessories and styles. Each vendor was just as unique as the last one. It was a marketplace in the world, they could talk and learn new things. Kids were learning how to create clothing, whilst some were dressing up and sword fighting. Everything was possible.

Going deeper in the richness of the world shone like a golden beacon upon them. As they approached the house furniture section. The wizard purchased all the goods and furniture they would need including heating, Chairs, tables, desks, computer, TV, curtains and everything in between to make it an homely place to live.

Once it was all done then the vendors would put the good through the chain of supply, then an electric vehicle flew by in the air; with the instructions of where there home is of which the Wizard had supplied them. “Well,” said the Wizard. “That is the shopping in order, it looks like we will able to start our main mission now”.

He motioned to Alex pointing to the vehicles zooming by and said. “These are like nothing you have seen before they transport goods across the whole world in seconds”.

“Distance is nor a problem for them. The Pallet of goodies will be ready once we get home. But there is someone else I would like to meet first”.

“Who, is it?”

“Ah,” said the Wizard. “His name is, Lucas and he is the watcher. I told him to meet us here in a discreet location,” he said. Slowly pointing towards an corner of the shops.

“What is over there, said Alex. It just seemed to be an empty pot of land”?

“Ah ha”, said the Wizard. This is the true entrance for the artist to create their own world. An world they see fitting and that resembles”.

“Other people come here and join in on the fun, in other people’s created worlds.

Its all about sharing and it all starts with this, he opened up his palm of his hands as Alex gazed up in shock. It was an off mythical object with an symbol showing Aries, it the same as he had envisioned in his dreams.

The wizard motioned towards the empty land. Then he said. “This is the power of Aries, Aeries, is the element of fire. It is the first fire sign”.

It is a sign that is active and adventurous and willing to gain on wonderful new beginnings.

“It is the magical spark which opens up a world that you create from your own imagination, with the heart and soul of a child you open up a new beginning”.

“So let us begin”, Alex ran along with the wizard, he was so excited beyond belief.

He was living his dream. The wizard moved some grass from the land then he planted some soils onto the Earth. Then he said he must build the land foe Aries to be placed on.

After a few moments a sewer hatch, on the hatch was the 12 Star Signs, he placed the Aeries onto the Aeries symbol. Then They were teleported into a new world. In front of therm was a hallway.

Chapter 6 – Alex’s True Powers

As they walked onward, an archway appeared the Wizard pointed up at the archway, then handed him the Aeries object he said. “You must walk through here for us to come in”.

It had not hit him yet what the Wizard had said, as he unlocked the archway. The wizard followed him in then they carried on moving through the walkway.

Then he froze for a second as it struck him. “Did you say us”.

“I am sorry”, said the Wizard for not telling you the full truth.

“You see Alex we have not come here to talk to Lucas, we have come here to kill him”.

Alex was confused, his head was doing somersaults. He could not grasp it at all why did he bring him?

Please relax Alex it is not a death wish I want to place on you, unfortunately you were the only option after the tragic incident, in which the lands separated that day. The only other hope was your Father. You see, like your father you are born an Fire element.

Only one that is born of true fire can pass through that archway. Take a closer look if you do not believe me, come closer.

Do you see that symbol on the archway, that is the symbol for the element fire. It is shown as a triangle pointing upwards. In contrast to water which is a triangle pointing downwards.

If anyone else would have entered first they would have died, this is just one of the many traps that can be found in here. You see Alex it was Lucas that caused this destruction to the world and in these desperate times, there is none else that can stop this evil.

To be truthful with you I am not sure if we will make it out of here alive. But we must act before it is too late. Lucas is once someone I knew, he was an curious child; who always ended up in the wrong crowds. For most of our lives, we were rivals. I knew his powers and skills. Lucas only ever wanted power and wealth and he was full of greed.

The wizard then turned to Alex and said. You have many powers, that you do not even know about. Soon two others will join us to help us out.

But first I must help you to unlock your powers. You may have not seen it yet. But you are special Alex, your fire and energy kept your sister alive for so long. The pancakes you made, I must confess were extraordinary.

I just cooked them on a stove.

“Just cooked it on the stove really”, said the Wizard. As he gazed up at Alex,

I know there was a much stronger connection there. Your heart and soul that went in it. Your energy bought new creations, that no one can explain, they can sense and feel it only. And it was that energy, that helped your sister. It was that strength and hope.

Just because you may not be able to see the effects of your power, does not mean you do not have them. You are the power and the element, only your strength can save us now.

Chapter 7 – And the Welcomed Guests

Breath in and out again. Then focus your mind on the door. Imagine you are a tiny insect crawling up the door, seeing feeling and exploring what it is. Can you feel them, the different parts of the doors. Now try to focus.

“Can you feel the different parts of the door?”

“I can feel the woodwork and the surface”.

Now then find the way, under the door and come out on the other side. Reconnect your mind and keep feeling. What do you see?

“Oh my,” he gasped, as he awoke startled. He was breathing heavily, “I seen darkness like never before. It was almost swallowing me in”.

The Wizard looked at Alex and said, “it is just as I feared”.

The Wizard went on. “Once we pass through them doors, we meet potentially dangerous magic, but fear not”, he said.

Then the Wizard went over next to one of the walls then he tapped his pendent on the wall 3 three times. This is the moment I have been waiting for, now we can end this once and for all. Within moments two people were summoned in.

Alex looked away, as in front of his eyes appeared two people who were completely naked having sex.

They were busy finishing off their snog, as they looked over at the wizard. “Oh Marissa please put on some clothes and Stewart that is quite enough. Get your clothes on too”, as he was finishing with the kiss.

“Get yourselves together people, we are going in to fight off Lucas”.

This was the moment they were waiting for. Marissa looked at the Wizard and the kid and said. “I told you we might be up to some steamy sex”.

“And what have you bought a kid who can barely even look after himself, is he even of age yet?”

“Oh please, Marissa. If I had any other choice, I would have bought an adult. But the situation is dire and there is no-one else who can assist”.

Marissa now fully clothed, beamed up at the boy and said. “I am Marissa, I am a Light magical user who uses Wind magic. And this is my husband Stewart who is a Water magic user”.

Alex was not sure what to think, all he could mutter was, “hello”. Seeing two people naked in front of him is the last thing he expected to see.

The wizard motioned to the door, as Marissa took charge with her light magic.

Chapter 8 Inside the mind of the computer game

But nothing was to be seen, the room was empty. Alex was poking around of the walls when he noticed something very unusual. One part of the wall had a dent that looked like a vague resemblance of some of kind of carving or symbol. He called the others over and as they did…

An opening appeared, they gasped in horror it was an hidden passageway. In front of there eyes, but yet not visible. And before they could utter another word. The noise Marissa heard became visible. The Wizard was the first to react, he sprang into the secret place and removed the gag off Lucas and untied him.

Lucas spoke what appeared to be garbage. “Do not move. Everything is changing, just stay still. This is not the world you think it is. We are in a actual computer game”.

Everyone stood in silence, the shock had not hit them yet. As the Wizard went in to free his arms. He said. “No more. Leave me here. Trust me, I am only safe here”.

He pointed towards the gag and the rope and said. “Tie me up again”.

“Are you a fool said the wizard? What is going on here, he shouted at Lucas”. The wizard sensed that something was very wrong, Lucas was not here to kill them, he was here to warn them. It made no sense.

Lucas looked up at the wizard and said. “The dark energy, you sensed was my warning signal. To come prepared for what lurks beyond, is a power that we will need help to defeat”.

“I was this close to completing destroying our world, until I heard a computer voice”.

“I am sorry for the destruction that I have caused and for activating the game to become reality. I did not think anyone would be interested in our world and stories”.

But it seems the foundations of the world you have build on this world had triggered interest from, others. Others who are leveraging the world you built on this land for there own needs.

All of which, whilst sat on a computer screen, playing there favourite game online. I did not think so much from a computer. He pointed towards the broken computer. Who would have thought it could connect the virtual world to the real world, through the internet.

But at this point, everyone froze. The shock hit them. A loud piercing noise entered the room. The noise was deafening and piercing. It was the sound of menace. Then everything went black.

The sound of robotic humming filled the air. “Players V,W,X,Y and Z have entered the scene”.

Lucas spoke. “This is a computer game we are in, someone else’s fantasy world. The only way of destroying this thing, is by locating the gamer that is playing the game now”.

“But how do we do that”, said the wizard?

“Well, normally we would find the computer. But we are now in another world. Thankfully I have explored this place”.

There is many puzzles ahead and we will need all the magic that can we muster.

Chapter 9 – The Journey through the game

After teleporting then the source is coming from here. An unknown location, not marked on the map.

As they approached the Imbed chambers;

Creatures of the undead spoke in monotone voices

Screeching noises could be heard

There legs were taller then the body

And short arms galore.

Sound of gushing light energy came there way

As they descended flat on the floor

They were barricaded from coming back

The energy sucked them away from the place

Far far away

They went down in dozens

Then the scent of the escape peered in.

They went through the door into the skyscraper, the puzzle here is how to build the platforms that were enough to go through the hidden door in the skies.

Like Tetris they came

The pieces fell into place

One by one they joined together

The blocks were forming

Once they became one

They crated an path to climb onto them

And onward they marched

The exit was marked with flowers

The blocks were all built to the top and as they reached the exit, the scene of an forest came into sight:

The forest host the venomous creatures

They spurt out acid from their mouths

As they close in with there poison fangs

They avoided them with their speed

As they danced around the creatures

Whilst poison flames erupts around the creatures

As it hits there body the plants decay

They have become wilted and die

As they lay there silent

The rest walk past them

As more arise

Down they go with flames around there body

The last one blocked there exit

Big and mighty it was

The poison wore it down

Then a few moments later they were approaching the end of passage

Keeping calm and cool. The next task was going to ware them down, they needed some barrier to protect them from the heat of the desert. Stewart spoke

Let this shield be the vessel of water

Let it cool down

Make everything cool

Cool the eyes

Shield the body from heat

And make the legs flow with cool liquid through it

Let the feet embrace the icy

And shield from falling

Then he created a shape around each of them and drew an shield around them. He then said. “The shield will hold, for about an hour lets move on”.

The desert was a long walk, desert creatures would occasionally pop out to try and gran them below the ground. They had to stay on guard and protect each other. It was tiring journey and many obstacles were on the path, which had to be removed such as overgrown shrubs. Fighting there way though, they did. The time was coming to the last 5 seconds. That was the exit.

They launched themselves to the final goal … Just in time. As they lay flat on the ground out of energy temporarily, the sudden heat hit them hard. Water bottles at the ready. They sipped the water and poured it over themselves, as they rested for a few moments.

Then they approached the cool winter night. The scenery here was scenic the stars were out and not too far from them. Between them was a broken bridge.

Marissa looked up at them and said. “I can teleport you one at at a time, to the other side”. I

In a flash they were there on the other side. “This must be the unknown location,” said Lucas.

“Hang on,” said the Wizard. As he peered closer, “That is the house that we just built in the World of Blender.”

Chapter 10 – The death of the game

As they went closer to their house, behold was the sight where everything begun. But why is the computer player in here.

Moving diligently towards the house, they see the player had not equipped the house with there goodies. The palette they had was not even here.

“Strange,” said the Wizard. “I bet you. If we defeat the player we can return this home to its glory”.

They all agreed as they pursued forward.

“What we must do is find the computer, there is many enemies around here said Lucas. Someone would need to distract the enemies. Whilst I destroy the computer”.

“Hey, said Marissa”, as one of them peered in. “I think I can have a chat with them”.

“No, please Marissa,” said Stewart. There was a group of soldiers around her age no less then 30.

As she drew there attention toward her luring there attention to only her beauty. As she made them have a good eye candy for her breasts, as she showed off some skin.

Whilst Lucas approached into the building, sneakily looking for the computer. No one was inside apart from the player. As he climbed up the pipe onto the same area he was in. The window was already open, he sneaked in, he quietly moved.

The Player, was on the computer at the moment probably looking for coordinates of their location. It was useless knocking him out, as he would just re spawn. He had to disable the computer. He launched a fireball at the computer, to blow it up into pieces. Then the ground returned to normal. The enemies had gone, only the player remained,

It was time now for the final fight with the player. The player spoke, “I will challenge each of you to a duel of magic. The target is 1000 HP, that is right 1000HP. Do you reckon you can ware me down”?

The player was strong as a massive battle of magic had started; fireballs, electric sparks, ice, tornadoes were all launched across to the player. He neatly repelled the magic with a powerful barrier. The barrier was reflecting the magic back onto them. He was barely unscathed, whilst the team were scrambling to protect themselves. Whilst he was mediating and launching a deep inner power,

Once the power was ready, he launched it onto them. The ground was now filled in fire around them. They had gone down in pain. The magic was searing into them, They lied defeated.

The player stood up and said. “I declare this to be my property. All of you can be my guards”.

“Hold on, said Alex. “I want to look at your face”?

They stared into each other eyes, for what seemed to be a while. There eyes transfixed. “I know who are you are. You are Ton Roosendaal. The creator of Blender”.

In an instant the mood changed, the tension was relived and within moments. Ton offered his gratitude and said, “You are full of hope, child. I grant you this house, may you live happily in here.”

“I am so pleased that you made this house; into a house to live in”. Then he was gone in a blink of an eye.

The Wizard and the rest of them helped, to unpack all the goods they bought from the markets. Within no time at all the house was all ready, they were safe and secure. They had created there world in which they can enjoy freedom and peace.
