The Mirror That Refused to Reflect
Sometimes, what you see in the mirror isn't you... but what wants to be
By LucianPublished 9 months ago • 1 min read

I bought the mirror at a dusty antique shop downtown. The old man who sold it to me refused to meet my eyes. "It shows you what you need to see," he muttered.
At first, it was normal—my reflection, just slightly faded. But one night, brushing my teeth, I saw myself... standing perfectly still, even as I moved.
When I blinked, my reflection smiled back—wide, unnatural, as if it had been waiting.
Now, no matter where I go, I catch glimpses of it in reflective surfaces.
It’s always closer than it should be.
And it never blinks anymore.
