The Green Light

For years the color of green has been a calming and safe color for humanity after all life starts out with green before any other color. The color green is a go ahead signal at traffic lights for the entire world and green is an indicator light seen on every piece of electronic equipment. Green simply means it’s good. But in the far reaches of the universe it means death.

The decaying green light destroys even black holes as time marches on. Everything stops spinning, glowing, heating, expanding, shrinking, cooling, or what so ever the changing function of the laws of physics have on a particular entity rather it’s a star, nebula, comet, meteor or even a black hole. The end result is green light decay.

If you discover this light stay the hell away and mark the location as a dead zone to prevent future accidental exploration.

The Senate Hearing…

Mr. Gainsberry will you please tell us your full name and position. Yes, Senator my name is Darl Gainsberry a NASA civilian engineer and I was part of the advance crew to explore the crystal planet CR188 that lies beyond the newly discovered wormhole behind Mars. The Senator speaks again, “Please tell us how did you encounter the starship Alpha which was millions of miles away from your destination and how did you make it back to Earth?” Darl cleared his throat and took a sip of water.

“After I crashed onto the newly discovered planet I rebuild my ship with the crystal based materials and outfit my engines with impulse propulsion. The way back through the wormhole was gone so I plotted a course to Alpha in hopes to find a pathway back to Earth. The impulse drive propelled my ship across millions of miles in days instead of weeks and I saw the starship Alpha was powerless and derelict. My sensors picked up a strange dull pulsing energy around and within the ship and the energy had a green glow”, said Darl. He wanted to say that he helped an alien race defeat a menace and in return they helped him rebuild his ship and gave it some upgrades but he refrain to protect their identities knowing the world governments would want all of their powerful technology for weapons. He lied taking credit for himself figuring out how to use super rare elements found on the planet.

Before he can continue a female Senator from Massachusetts spoke. “Did you wore any protection so you wouldn’t bring anything harmful back to Earth?”, she asked with a stern tone. “I followed full NASA protocols…”, but Darby was cut off by another Senator a thin man from New York. “What protocol dd you follow for approaching and entering a derelict ship?”, asked the man with a concerned voice.

Darl took a deep breath, paused, refrained himself to talk about classified alien technology in the presence of the media, and spoke slowly. “I Darl Gainsberry the lone survivor of my crashed ship, escaped from the planet I was on and upon arrival of the derelict ship used approved classified measures and protection to scan, and search inside the ship. I found nothing but dust of the fallen astronauts and their empty clothes. I downloaded all transcripts of the flight log and all I can find is a message, a warning to not to venture into the green light. It’s a type of space decay that ends all matter and living things. I had to leave the ship after spending just five minutes onboard. The energy reading was starting to spike and the ship haul was cracking. I been checked, scanned and quarantined on the lunar base and my ship was thoroughly inspected and contained and that’s all I can say at this time”, said Darl as he slump back into his seat.

The Senators wanted to grill him more and tried to get him to answer more questions but he kept on repeating “That’s all I can say at this time”.

Deep in Area 51 a dark crystal in a test chamber emits new matter and the new matter engulfs and destroys the small spec of the decaying green light. An old scientist walked up to two men in dark business attire and said, “Gentlemen, we found the missing link of the Big Bang, we found dark matter.”
