A story inspired by this wonderful Little Red Riding Hood picture I saw shared by The Enchanted Booklet.
The music is "The Wolf" by Fever Ray from the "Red Riding Hood" soundtrack
The Girl In Red
She had lost her parents when she was very young and was taken in by her spiteful grandmother, who used her as a skivvie and beat her every day.
The girl was dot allowed to go to school or make friends with other children because she had to earn her keep by workning for her grandmother.
Her only friends, which she made when she was out gathering fruit and vegetables were wild animals. One day a black wolf came up to her and she was frightened that it was going to attack her, but it then spoke:
"I have been told about how your grandmother treats you, I knwo a family on the other side of the Black Forest who are desperate for a child of their own, but have been unable to bring a child into this world. You would be the answer to their prayers, and they would treat you like a princess. Tonight slip out of the cottage, wear your red cloak, ad bring a lamp to light our way on our run through the forsest and your life will be changed for the better forever"
That night the girk dressed in red and brought her lamp. She climbed on the black wolf's back and together they ran through the forest, and eventually arrived at a beautiful cottage where the wolf introduced her to her new parents, who hugged her and gave her cake lemonade.
She hugged and thanked the wolf who returned to the forest, and she lept soundly in her new bed in her new house that night.
The girl in red had found a beautiful new life.

I love how the grandma is the villain and the wolf is the hero. I hope the wolf eats up the grandma, lol. Loved your story!
I love this version. Both girl and wolf win!
What a wonderful take on an old tale. Love it!
