In The Name Of Our God Of Love And Peace
For The Vocal "The Shape of the Thing" Challenge

The Faithful
We have faith and we believe. We are the chosen ones and our God tells us one we have to do. He speacks through our holy men, and we do his bidding.
We bow down and worship on holy days, and our God is the true God, all others are false.
We will bring our love and care to every human and animal in this world, and in others.
Any who question our God will be taught the error of their ways.
You ask for proof that our God is true. We do not need proof because be have faith and belief. That is all we need. That makes the only God real.
We will never be swayed from our path, our God is in our hearts, minds and souls.
We are righteous.
We will bring the ignorant and the strays on to the path of truth.
God is life, and life is God.
When will he appear, you ask? He does not need to appear because he is always here. Or God is the Sun and the Moon, all that you see are the many faces of The True God.
There are no questions; there is only The True God.
You ask why there is hurt and fear in the world, why there are wars and disease. This is simply because there are those who refuse to bow down to the teachings of the True God.
The Observers
Those are the statements of the cult that calls itself "The Faithful". They continually eulogise their "True God", but that is something that only exists in their minds, even if it exists there.
I have friends of all faiths, and they gain solace and comfort from their beliefs, but they never force their beliefs on anyone. This lot is genuinely scary.
I know there are plenty of "Christians" whose only god is money, but this lot's god seems to be power and nothing else.
They only take and give nothing. If misfortune befalls you, it is either because you have not followed their god's teachings (which are just their teachings) or if you have been following teachings, it is just god working in mysterious ways.
As soon as you question them, the threats start, and though they are not widespread enough, there are rumours that they have their own inquisition squads, and we have an inkling of what that could mean for their targets.
They preach love, peace and caring, but if you do not follow their way, wear their uniform, attend their meetings, you are deemed to be heretical, and a target for "conversion", and that usually includes threats and sometimes violence.
I have seen no holy books in their possession; everything is by word of mouth, and its followers believe and follow those words despite no evidence of their "Only True God".
It is strange how a non-existent being can exert influence and command obedience from so many unquestioning followers. If you ask anyone the reason, they will say "The Only God", and you will never sway them from their path.
I don't know if they are growing or will fade away, but they are a worrying facet of modern life.
I am fine, they don't know my name or where I live, but they say "The Only God" will find and punish me if I do not follow their ways. I can also look after myself, but I know that other lives and livelihoods will be under threat because of the cult that follows this non-existent god to control others.
Maybe the real God, if they exist, can do something about it.

Hahahahahahaha these people are so delusional! This is one of the best entries I've read for this challenge!
Peace to you, Mike. I sense a lot of hurt and disappointment in what religion has brought to your table and throughout history. I can see where religion could be a wicked tool but I don't believe that our Creator meant for what man has made it to become. I had to reach above this world to get to my peace. That is why I refer to myself as spiritual rather than religious and never confuse the fact that God is righteous and I am not. But I do believe that Jesus was sent because God loved us and wanted to remind us that His ways aren't man's ways, so I rest in His goodness and mercy. That is what being a Christian means to me.
This story really shows how dangerous it becomes when people invent their own version of “God” to control others. True faith is never about fear or force. In Islam, God tells us clearly: “There is no compulsion in religion” (Qur’an 2:256). The real God does not need threats or blind obedience—His signs are everywhere in the universe, in our hearts, and in the Qur’an. Islam teaches that God is One, above creation, not limited to the sun, the moon, or human imagination. He is Just, Merciful, and closer to us than our jugular vein (Qur’an 50:16). Real love and peace can only be found in sincerely submitting to Him. I invite you to explore Islam with an open heart—you may discover the truth, clarity, and peace that so many are searching for.
