“Why did I agree to go to an escape room in a remote house?” Jessica questioned Tommy.
“It adds to the experience!” Tommy replied as he pulled at the chains that locked them both on the bed.
“This doesn’t feel like other escape rooms.” Jessica hissed as she strained against her chains. The gothic bedroom was dark, cold, and had a dank stench.
“Where did you learn about this place?” Jessica asked.
“A friend of a friend who learned about it online.” Tommy answered as he squinted through the weak lighting.
“I think that is a key, built into the footboard.” Tommy wondered.
“The guy who took our money was weird. Did you see the way he leered at me?” Jessica whispered.
Tommy was scissoring his legs to see if he could knock the antique key to the mattress.
Creak…
“What was that?” Jessica whispered. “This place is freaking me out, I say we tap out, this is not fun.”
“Come on, we have only been here ten minutes.” Tommy coaxed. “Let’s not give up.”
The lights went out, pitching them into complete darkness.
Jessica let out a panicked scream. “THAT’S IT, STOP THE GAME, WE WANT OUT!”
“WE'RE DONE! ” Tommy yelled.
The door creaked open, but no light appeared. Jessica’s body froze. She could feel Tommy move closer. “Let us out; you win; we can’t figure it out,” Tommy snapped at the manager.
An icy breeze snaked around Jessica, sinking into her skin like icy fingers.
Jessica and Tommy said, “Hello?” simultaneously.
Swish!
Jessica felt a splash of warm liquid on her face. “What the hell was..” just before a razor-like pain ripped through her throat.

Heard about it from a friend of a friend from online? Yeah, no, not sketchy at all. C'mon Tommy!
