A mysterious pavilion
Mr. George's investment failed and he had no choice but to return to his hometown in the town with his wife and daughter. Not reconciled to defeat, George still went to work early and stayed late every day, looking for a chance to make a comeback. His wife Mary was reluctant to do a housewife, fortunately the neighbors are very friendly, the life of the family is gradually on the right track.
But there was one thing that worried Mary. Arya, her lively daughter, was sullen. Mary thought it was because she had just changed to a new environment, but a month had passed and things were no better. Several times Mary heard strange noises in her daughter's room and went in to find nothing. Arya explained that she was preparing for the school play, "An Angel Has Come."
Arya began acting strangely, too, uttering strange words and spending time in abandoned pavilions. "Wonder how Arya knew about the court when I never told her about it?" A worried Mary crept after her and peered through the cracks between the planks. Arya was holding an old Rag Doll and talking. Mary, whose eyes were so absorbed in the doll that it took her some time to wake up, went in and took her daughter down.
Arya's long beautiful hair was covered with dust, and her large blue eyes had gone dark, as if possessed by a ghost. Mary called out Arya's name eagerly. Arya's eyes brightened as she looked at her anxious mother. "What's the matter, Mother?" she asked.
"You scared mother to death, dear. Why did you go to the pavilion?" Mary said, wiping the dust from her daughter's hair.
"I was called by a sister in a white dress. She said the doll was lonely and asked me to keep her company." Arya still didn't understand why her mother was worried.
Mary heard the next jump, wearing a dress sister, is it haunted? Then Arya said suddenly, "Mother, I feel dizzy." Mary noticed Arya's face was pale. She touched her forehead. It was hot.
Mary settled my daughter, and came again to the terrace, and as soon as the boards were opened, a smell of mildew came upon her. She picked up the doll on the floor and found that it was worn and torn. The strings on its back were open. On it were written the words Hayley. The name gave Mary a jolt.
Haley, Mary and her husband's first daughter, was killed in a car accident when she was ten years old. Haley had just won first place in the school recital. An excited Hayley rushed home to share her joy with her parents. She didn't even have time to change her white dress for the performance. Later, they had Arya, but Hayley's death was an eternal pain in their hearts, so they never mentioned her to Arya.
Now Arya saw her sister, who had been dead for years, and followed her sister's lead to the attic to find the doll, Hayley's favorite toy.
Mary lay in bed at night, thinking over the recent events in her mind, and the more she thought about them, the more uneasy she became. She nudged her husband nearby and expressed her concern. George muttered. "Don't think so. Arya must be saying that because she's afraid you'll judge her. Go to sleep. I'm going to visit Mr. Goldman at Citibank tomorrow." Her husband's words did not reassure Mary, and she decided to visit her daughter's school tomorrow.
Two recurrent illness
Arya's head teacher, Lady Clare, had also been Haley's teacher and had known Mary a long time. In Claire's telling, Arya didn't act out of character at school, just seemed quiet and listless.
Mary paused. "Arya's been rehearsing the play 'An Angel Came', hasn't she?"
Claire laughed. "Arya has a talent for acting. It's only when she's onstage that a smile appears on her face. I watched her rehearse from the stage, and she was a real angel. Sometimes I get the illusion that I'm seeing Hayley again. They're really alike."
Mary knew that Claire didn't like her, especially after what had happened to Haley. If she and her husband had come to the school to see their daughter play, the tragedy would not have happened. Now the same thing had fallen to Arya.
Mary shivered suddenly. Was "Hayley" aiming at Arya? Haley was the apple of her eye? Now, seeing someone take their place, can't take it and start taking revenge? Mary hurried home without explaining.
As soon as Mary got to the door, she heard what seemed to be a voice in the room. It was very vague. What was being said? Mary pushed the door open and found Arya lying quietly in bed, mumbling something. Mary couldn't help laughing. "The boy must have been dreaming." Mary leaned in to hear what Arya was saying. "Haley, Haley..." Mary broke out in a cold sweat. Arya called for Hayley. How did she know about Hayley?
While Mary was at a loss, something more terrible happened. "Good boy, I'm here." A voice suddenly sounded. 'Who is it? Mary panicked. "Haley, is that you?" The room was silent, and there was no answer. A sudden gust of wind made the window creak, and it seemed that a white figure was coming through the window. Terrified, Mary turned her head to see Arya awake.
"Honey, who were you talking to?" Mary's face was worried. "No, I just had a dream in which I saw my sister in the white dress again." Arya looked excited. Mary's heart warmed as she looked at Arya's innocent face.
Arya coughed violently. Mary felt her daughter's forehead and saw that she was burning badly. Seeing her daughter's painful expression, Mary did not dare to be careless, quickly picked up her daughter went to the hospital.
The doctor examined Arya carefully and explained that it was just a common cold, nothing serious. The doctor prescribed some medicine and sent them home with a few instructions.
Arya's illness went back and forth in the days that followed. Mary is not a superstitious person, but the recent series of strange events, Mary can not help but believe that maybe "Hayley" is really up to something.
Clare had visited Arya several times while she was recovering at home. At noon that day, Clare came to see Arya again. The frail Arya was excited about the teacher's arrival and asked about the rehearsal of the play "An angel has come". Clare let Arya rest assured that the students were waiting for the "angel" to appear, Arya smiled happily.
Claire hesitated for a moment as Mary walked her out. "Actually," she said, "I've come to tell Arya that the show is drawing near. If Arya doesn't recover, the drama club is considering a new leading lady. I didn't have the heart to tell her when she was so happy. You'd better get a chance to tell her."
After seeing Miss Clare off, Mary went back inside. Arya said excitedly, "Mom, you and Dad must come the day I play." Mary nodded, still not telling the truth.
A warm ending
George looked very upset at dinner that evening. He must have had some trouble at work. Mary looked at her husband's face and said cautiously, "Darling, Arya's not getting better. We'd better think of something else."
"The other way? Arya's got a cold, not Hayley's ghost!" "George almost roared.
At the word "Hayley," Arya went white and fainted. The couple were too frightened to argue. They picked up their daughter and rushed to the hospital. And AT this time THE HOUSE THAT white figure, weak fell on the ground, mumbling in his mouth: "I'm sorry, my power is too weak, can only help you to here."
After careful and thorough examination by the doctor, it is still a common seasonal cold. Mary was still worried and begged the doctor to check again. "Madam," the doctor said, "I understand your feelings, but the patient does have a common cold. As for not getting well, it may be due to repeated infections."
"Could it be a ghost possession?" George glared at Mary, who was already desperate.
The DOCTOR SMELL SPEECH SMILED: "LADY YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT DISORDERLY, THIS WORLD WHICH HAVE WHAT GHOST?"
Then an old man came along, and the young doctor hurried to meet him. "What are you doing here, Dean?"
The old man waved his hand and said, "The child's illness is not like a common cold. After a normal person catches a cold, it will be better in about a week. Then the antibody will exist in the body for a period of time to protect us from being infected again so quickly. The child is likely to have a very rare disease, HRD42 deficiency, the incidence of this disease is very low, there are only a few dozen cases in the country. Colloquially speaking, a certain type of hematopoietic stem cell is damaged, leading to a decline in the immune system. The early symptoms of this disease are similar to the common cold, so it is easy to miss the period of optimal treatment. I suggest you go to the big hospital to check, just in case."
The couple followed the old man's advice and took Arya to a public hospital in Washington State. The results showed that Arya was indeed suffering from HRD42 deficiency. Experts said that it was lucky that she was sent early, and if she had come a month later, God would have done nothing.
Mary heaved a sigh of relief. "Thank God it's not too late," she said. "Arya has suffered for more than a month."
Puzzled, the expert asked, "What? You mean the baby's been like this for over a month?"
Mary looked puzzled at the expert and nodded.
Experts, "strange, it's not possible, HRD42 deficiency of the incubation period is only one month, generally fell ill after a month it is late, the patient has already can't walk, I couldn't eat another thing, the body skin began to wither, but also has no hope of treatment, and most aaliyah sick a week, otherwise it can't be like this."
Mary remembered the white figure and whispered, "Perhaps a spirit is watching over Arya."
That noon, Mary came to the ward and suddenly saw a white dress on the bed. Mary's heart is a tight, "Is" Haley "chasing here?"
Arya saw her mother staring at the dress. "It's my costume for the show. Miss Clare sent it. But I knew it was too late for me to get back. Arya's mood seemed lost.
Mary was wondering what to say to her daughter when George opened the door and came in. "Honey, you won't miss the show. Dad's already spoken to Miss Clare, and they've agreed to postpone the show until you get back. '
"Really? That's great, thanks, Dad." Arya jumped for joy.
Mary snuggled into her husband's arms and whispered, "You can't be true, can you?"
"Of course it's true. I've decided to donate the money to the school to reopen the company. In return, they've agreed to postpone the show until Arya returns." George said it was a breeze.
Mary sensed the change in her husband and they embraced happily. He did not notice a white figure floating through the window.
Arya opened her eyes from the sickbed, looked out the window and whispered, "Goodbye, sister."
