That Letter
For The Vocal L*pogram Challenge Or How To Create Your Entry

Here's a story of what happened when someone thought they were able to enter the latest Vocal Challenge ... Dot Dot Dot
Now Read On
Why?
One of these tales has already flowed from my pen and keyboard and a Vocal Top Story was the result. You would assume that would be enough, but no, the challenge tempts me once more, but Why? Why?
What can be put down on screen or paper that makes a tale that others are also tempted by?
That's a problem. Solvable?
Apparently, a number of Creators have shown that they can.
After twenty four hours, a day, there are eleven tales on the challenge page, one every two hours roughly so that means by the end of the challenge there'll be well over three hundred and one score and ten tales for Vocal judges and moderators to evaluate.
A thousand words, that's a lot to put down to create your masterful story, but as you see more words appear on your screen you know you are closer to your goal. There's a long way to go but thank god for the fact we can drop that letter where these examples show:
- There's
- That's
- Who'll
- He'll
- She'll
- Won't
See what you can do to get you through the challenge.
We can use words for that letter such as "eye" or "aye" and there are probably a lot more.
Hope you see my tale as humourous rather than of consequence, but you do learn a lot of synonyms as your story unfolds.
We are unable to use the word used for the challenge as that letter's letter number two as part of the word. That sentence was hard but hopefully makes some sense. Hope that made you laugh.
One challenge entry should have been enough for me, but am here once more to take up more space on the Vocal server.
My personal challenge's to complete my story and make some sense and show we can create tales created from the other letters of the alphabet.
There are lots of problems that we face such as self referral, numbers (one, two, three, four are OK but then..), and as you put your words to paper or screen from your keyboard that letter appears by some dark back door.
When you use a browser on a non-Apple computer CTRL-F can show you all the occurrences of that letter, and that helps make sure that your story won't be thrown out by the Vocal members who judge the Challenge.
A Thesaurus can be handy for useful synonyms, antonyms, homonyms and other useful words to help your story progress.
The Vocal page for the challenge has two hundred and four score plus ten and three occurrences of the letter, some repeated as part of the same word, so that shows the problems you may have when you take on the challenge.
A lot of what's part of of the story has not been done by me (yet) so that's OK for the challenge, though you can see how much's changed to not use the letter. Grammarly keeps on at me to use the unusable letter but we know that's not on.
My Story should have lots of cuts (cannot see another word that doesn't use the letter here) that you can use for your Challenge tales.
So where are we? Halfway through and am more than shocked that we have got here though there's a long, long way to go.
Many Creators have not been happy about the Challenge but we have to acknowledge that we are really challenged here. The other current one, a breakup nonet seems much more easy on us. Past Challenges such as the Senryลซ (ๅทๆณ) and the other Japanese short form poems were not as hard on us as the current one.
There are no words to expand on the state my head has entered because of the challenge. No doubt you'll be exactly the same.
There are lots of constructs here that the famous author Stephen K tells us that we should never use. My story's not the best example of how to make people want to read your work, but what the challenge has forced me to do has caused the problem.
The letter has been successfully lost so far as we traverse my desert (or even dessert) of words and'll be watched for as we traverse the paths and roads to the end.
Her's a journey through a sea or oceans of thoughts as we stumble towards what we see as a complete end to the tale and story but we have not reached that place yet.
We have twenty four letters plus one more to use for our game of words and that should be more than enough because the book "Gadsby" by Ernest VW (the second and last part of the name has the letter) was created ex the letter "E" so we should be able to do that around a thousand words shouldn't we?
The letter's less than four per cent of our alphabet so there should be no problem to create a tale (none of that letter). Just look at how the author repeats words to not use the letter. So to talk about me can call myself the author, though makes me feel as though the end'll be reached by lots of cheats from me.
Alpacas are cool!! That's just a random phrase from when we watched a TV program.Words such as TV are good to use for the challenge, know you can see why.
When we fall through the last hurdle we can be so proud of what we have done.
We are lucky to have the tools to help us on the way. Know that the challenge would be not on for me unless the browser add-ons were there.
At the end, the author must check once more before that person can enter the Vocal challenge and you all know who they are.
Thank you so much for your temporal presence.
Remember, 'Twas Just A Story.

Looks like we thought alike when using the word eye, lol...
Whoaaaa, you've already written 2 stories for this challenge! So admirable!
Hi Mike, Your prose is elegant and evocative, painting vivid scenes that transport the reader into the story's world. The pacing is perfect, allowing each moment to unfold naturally and leaving a lasting impact. Moreover, the themes of regret and the power of words to heal wounds are beautifully explored throughout the narrative. Your story serves as a reminder of the importance of communication and understanding in our relationships. Thank you for sharing "That Letter" with your readers. It's a testament to your skill as a writer and your ability to touch hearts with your storytelling. I look forward to reading more of your work in the future. Warm regards, Jason

Fantastic! Love it, now if I could only turn it around and get "my subscribers" to read my work.
Thank you, you are always sharing your wisdom. You are an inspiration. Congrats for that story getting Top Story. I might give that Change a go.
