Talking Murder

Another Murderous Tarotale

A Knife

The Situation

Eight spouses, other halves, and partners were murdered in one night. Each murderer used a knife from the kitchen resulting in a lot of blood spilt.

The murderers then called the police and confessed. They were distraught, in tears, they knew what they had done, but not why they had done it.

In the case of murder, the police normally have to track down the murderer but here we had eight murderers, eight victims, eight murder weapons and a lot of blood.

So What Happened?

The ambulances and police came to cordon off the area and examine the crime scenes. The murderers were taken to the local police station to be interviewed and the bodies were taken to the morgue so that autopsies could take place, but there was nothing out of the ordinary. They had all been stabbed and then bled to death.

Interviewing The Murderers

All the interviews were the same. They had been working on the computer, and then suddenly they had the compulsion to get up, go to the kitchen, find the most vicious kitchen knife they had and then stabbed their partner or loved one until they were dead.

No one knew why they had done it, none had previous form, they were not even in the system for DNA or Fingerprinting. There were eight distraught murderers in the police station who had murdered someone they shared their lives with and probably loved a great deal and they did not know why.

Further investigation showed that the murders had all taken place after they had been working on their computers, these were all home workers, and freelancers,

The next connection was they had signed up for a web seminar, and had all watched the seminar, either live or on a recording, and when that had finished they had left their computer and committed the murder.

The Cause

The common thread was the seminar and its recording. While this should have been available for analysis it had been removed from all servers. The murderer’s computers had been taken for investigation and while there was evidence that they had watched the seminar, there was nothing on the computers.

Phones were taken as well for examination and then a breakthrough. One man had made a recording of the seminar, it was not perfect but they made a copy of the recording.

If this was the cause of the murders it would have to be examined very carefully under isolation, as they knew that watching this could cause the recipient to at least be violent.

The Seminar

Major Arcana Means Murder

This was watched and analysed completely by computer. It showed a method of supposed business analysis illustrated using Tarot cards from the Major Arcana such as Strength, The Tower, The Emperor and Judgement.

But the surprising, or, maybe not surprising analysis was a reverse Fibonacci Sequence of alternate words instructing the listener to take a knife and kill the first person that they came across.

When directly reading the instructions they, hopefully had no effect on the reader, but in the sequence of the seminar and with the visuals and colours presented to the audience members these were fatal.

Although the physical murderers were in custody the real murderer was the one who had put together this seminar, and of the protagonist there was no trace.

This was another group of eight murders within the same street, with no way of finding out who was behind it.

Conclusion

The protagonist scanned the local papers and internet. His seminar had worked perfectly.

This may be the same protagonist in the story below.

Oooo, the protagonist is back! This was super creative, to come up with a brilliant murder story based on tarot cards!

Guess I better be careful of what I'm watching on the net. Good one.
