To Find The Witch

And Lift The Curse

By Mike Singleton 💜 Mikeydred Published 3 years ago • Updated 3 years ago • 3 min read

A Prologue

This is what occurred after “The Shadow” which you can read here

I was now the shadow as I watched him leave the house in my body, I did know if he would return, an hour in the state will drive me mad, though he managed it, and he managed to escape, admittedly by stealing, or “borrowing” someone else’s body, but I don't know how this can work as I keep trying to push but I have no physical form, but I will keep trying…

To Find The Witch

He was going to find her and he was going to lift this curse, or rather get her to lift this curse. He knew the gipsy caravan was still there and she was still telling fortunes. Although he had

such things he now knew there were powers on this plane that he could not explain of comprehend and so had to leave to those that knew.

Also going through his mind was that he could find another person to take advantage of and have a life of luxury, he deserved it, after fifty years as a shadow. As with people like him he never considered the effects of his actions on others, it was just what he could get out of it.

He knew he may only have seven days in this body so if he couldn't get the curse lifted he would spend a week stealing, fighting, and assaulting men and women and leave the owner of this body to pick up the tab, it made no odds to him.

If that witch did not lift the curse, he would make her pay for what she had done to him

At The Caravan

The door was open and the Fortune Teller was sitting at her table consulting a bowl filled with crystals.

“You have returned again, different body, and despite having time to think about your faults nothing has changed has it? Are you not concerned for this man whose body you have borrowed? I see you're not and you are going to wreck his life if I do not lift the curse, that is another that you will hurt, for no reason at all.”

“Lift the curse, and it was his fault for being there and letting me take is body”

“It was not his fault and you could have asked for his help you always have that option although they will think it is just voices in their head”

“I don’t care about him, lift the curse or I will wreck you and this place for good”

The Fortune Teller laughed.

“You hardly endear yourself to people who have power over you do you?”

“You don’t have power over me, and if you don’t lift it now, I will show how I will overpower and destroy you”

“THAT’S ENOUGH, YOU HAVE HAD TIME TO REPENT AND CHANGE BUT YOU HAVE JUST GOT WORSE. THIS ENDS NOW”

“What the fvck? You can’t hurt me, I won’t let you”

The Fortune Teller Witch cast powder over his body and completed an incantation.

He felt himself draining, that was the only word he could think to describe it.

“What have you done to me?”

“I have lifted your curse by dissolving your shadow. This will send your soul to the cold Limbo, and free this man from any ill you were going to do with his body”

“But I have seven days”

“You don’t even have seven seconds” ………..

The shadow on the wall in the house slowly disappeared

In The Caravan

I woke suddenly, across the table from the Fortune Teller, not at the top of the stairs, and in my own body.

“How did I get here? Who are you? Where am I?!

“Questions, questions. A horrible person tried to steal your body and soul. He showed he was beyond redemption, so I consigned him to Limbo. Now cross my palm with silver and I will read your fortune if you so wish” …..
