Return of the Puppet Master
The night was unusually quiet, the kind of silence that settles like fog — heavy, unspoken, and full of dread. The old school building stood still, wrapped in darkness, its crumbling walls whispering secrets of the past. Somewhere in that eerie calm, the sharp, sudden scream of a little girl sliced through the night like a knife.

Mind Game: When a Police Officer Took Down a Billionaire Mastermind
The city glimmered under the calm of the night, but beneath the shine, the truth was quietly dying. Adrian Ray was no ordinary officer. As part of the anti-corruption unit, he had built a reputation for thinking far ahead of his enemies. To him, crime wasn’t just bloodshed on the streets—it was the smiling faces behind corporate doors, the ones who manipulated minds, controlled narratives, and sold destruction as development.

Who's the real monster?
It started off as a normal Friday the 13th. Me and my folks were doing a marathon for the day's name sake just for fun. When the opening for the first movie began my mom touched her very pregnant belly before saying, "Something is wrong." Dad heard the fear in her voice then ran to grab the keys for the pickup. I froze in place just looking at her. Never in my life had I seen mom look so scared. Hearing dad yell over his shoulder, "Get the bag!" On instinct I grabbed the go bag my mom had been filling with stuff all day. From what I knew it was called nesting. It's what expecting mothers do when the baby is about to be born.

We Were Just Having Breakfast-Then the Water Took Us
By Zahir Ahmad Morning came gently to the Swat Valley, with golden light spilling over the hills and dancing across the rippling waters of the Snha River. The sound of birds calling through the crisp mountain air blended with the faint gurgle of the river as it wound its way around smooth stones and under swaying willows.

The Fifth Bed. Content Warning.
There were four of us in Room 114, the last room at the end of the dim corridor in our college hostel. A long, tiled hallway led to a wooden door that always stuck in its frame, no matter how many times it was oiled. The windows faced the back garden, though calling it that was generous—more like a thicket of dense, unkempt shrubs and black-needled trees. Beyond them, nothing but shadows.

Room for One More
It was already dark when Darren pulled into the gravel lot of the Halcyon Pines Motor Lodge, a roadside relic squatting on the edge of the forest like a forgotten museum exhibit. He hadn’t meant to stop there—he’d passed countless better options an hour earlier—but fatigue had gotten the better of him. The highway behind him seemed to vanish into an ink-thick fog, and his GPS had died two hours ago without explanation.
