Is it just Me: Vol. 1
Warning this is just my opinion, not fact. Is it just me or does anybody else feel bad for Steppenwolf? If you paid close attention to his storyline, he actually succeeded in everything that he said he was going to do in order for him to gain favor with Darkseid. Which I recently found out was his nephew. Stephen (nickname) somehow betrayed his nephew and was ban from home and to make up for the disloyalty he owned Darkseid 50,000 planets. Let me repeat that again. Fifty thousand new planets he had to conquer and destroy for Darkseid, a.k.a his nephew, a.k.a his boss, a.k.a it should be me on the throne and not you.

Dreamer - Chapter 4
Disclaimer: This is a story with multiple parts. You can read the previous chapters here. My phone was still at home. Probably still plugged into the charger on the floor of my bedroom. Where I left it. Why didn't I take that stupid thing with me? It's always with me, even when I didn't really need it to be. I mentally slapped myself across the face before moving my hand away from my pants and placing it gently in my lap. My eyes scanned over the entire vehicle; looking up and down, side to side, studying every last detail of my surroundings to get my mind off the lack of phone in my pocket.

Estranged
Avalyn ran until her thighs began to burn. She was able to keep it up for just over an hour fueled by pure adrenaline. She felt like she had run faster than she'd ever run before. The city blurred by in her peripherals while she was hyper-focused on what lay ahead of her. At this hour of night there were few people out, but of those who were, none appeared to notice her running past in distress. When her legs felt like they would give out, she slowed to a trot to get her bearings. She had one of those moments where she looked around and realized she couldn't quite remember how she'd gotten there. Her memory was a blur. What she could remember felt like everyone she passed had been frozen in time. She looked left and right to figure out where she was. It appeared she had ended up at the east edge of the city.

Day of the Dragon: A Stonemason’s Revenge
A piece of a five-part non-chronological series centred around the day of the dragon. __________________ The sound of wildlife flitting about the forest occupies Meryck’s senses. A short distance away from the main camp, the elderly man rests on a fallen tree trunk. The break offers his sore feet some respite from the long march toward the city of Gallina.

The Long Wait
(Part 6 of a short story series, based on writing prompts. Written while learning to fight brain fog and perfectionism... and my ADHD. By this point my ADHD brain was saying “I’ll do it but I won’t be happy about it. It was absurd to commit to an 8 part series. You knew this was a long shot. Can’t we just kill everyone off and end it early?”. In hindsight that might have been a good move, but here it is anyway. I didn’t hit the required word count so my story submission bounced back, hence being out of order.)
