The world we know today is covered in man-made monstrosities made of metal and glass. This is not how the world used to be, and this is not how the world appears on one warm Autumn night, deep in the forest surrounding Mount Somers. This night took place back when homes were still built chiefly of wood and there was no such thing as electricity or indoor plumbing. Most people lived in small villages with their homes built as close to each other as possible for protection as the times were not safe for the average person. Not everyone was like the rest, and there is one, in particular, that was far from average.

The largest asteroid orbiting Xira Glowing Five had been known as a pirate haven for decades, but no one had ever bothered to mount a sufficient naval force to take them out. One of the reasons for such reluctance was the rumor that the asteroid had some sort of ancient defensive system that could destroy any ship up to a four-decker in size without firing a shot. No admiral had bothered to challenge that rumor. Without a major fleet effort, the only way into the maw of the defenses was to sneak in as a pirate yourself.

1 – The Rose Birger dropped from the clouds silently, his scales gleaming with condensation. He enjoyed the feeling of the mist on his face as he flew through the dark mass of water vapor. Soon the clouds would let loose a torrent of rain, bright streaks of lightning, and rolling thunder that will shake the earth. Birger could feel it as he flapped his massive wings and filled his eyes with the beautiful country before him. The sun was trying to break through the clouds, and even managed to shine through for a few short minutes.

Most of us were of the dog race so we already have good noses . Our sense of smell were second to none . Only a few animals and beasts had a better sense of smell than us . The bat witch didn’t need anything , because bat people excel in the night already . Bats use sonar mostly to their advantage . They achieve this with echolocation . Bats can hear better than any race on this world . Their smell is top of the line as well .
