What Was Not, Was
A child noticed the stone first, just hovering 60 feet off the dusty earth, glowing like a stoplight, an otherworldly emerald. The girl explained to the authorities that she had been playing hide and seek in the construction site when the light just, in her own words, “BUGHREW!” She spread her hands to imitate fireworks. She was especially upset as the light had given away her hiding spot. However, she could not explain where it had come from. It was not, then it was.

Deadication
Launch Day: That Morning A rap on the front door provoked Theo. He hated interruptions almost as much as he did mornings. At his temples came an explosive pain. The product of sunlight feeling like it was searing his eyes. Retreating he waited until he was curled deeper into the safety of his bed sheets before calling out. "Who is it? can't a man try to get some sl---?" Theo's voice trailed off as he quickly began to drift back into his previously lethargic state.

The Last Prayer For Grandma
I sit here in this graveyard alone. I have been alone since 26th December 2020 when my gran passed away. I don't know what she died from, my family won't tell me. I am only eleven years old, and they think that telling me will scare me. I stroke my grans headstone, wishing that I could just hug her one more time, but gran is gone, and I'll never feel her hugs, kisses or touch again. Tears well in my eyes like the sea on a dark and stormy day as I try to imagine life without gran.

Luminous Lime
Grace wanted to turn around and leave. She couldn't pinpoint why her heart raced, goosebumps rose up on her arms, and she got a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach. It was the kind of feeling that you might imagine having in a haunted house where your fear stems from something unseen.
