Treasure Hunt
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. The first line of the sci fi book Johnny loaned me is running through my head for some reason. Darkness surrounds me. My eyes come slowly into focus as I regain awareness. I struggle to look at my surroundings. At first everything just looks green. As my vision clears I can see Johnny laying a few feet away. He is also trying to get adjusted to our new surroundings. I can hear him moan as he tries to fight through the fog in his head. Then he calls out to me, “Are you okay, Aaron?”

Tales of the Sentinel Space Guard
“Counselor Jon, I’m here with my papers?” I said excitingly while entering the counselor’s office. As I enter the room I realize no one is in the immediate area, so I just decide to wait here until I see him. I look out his window at the vastness of space and marvel at the glorious ships LB-2 and LB-3 as they are traveling right behind us. Who would have thought a race as primitive as us could develop ships this grand in the year 2350? As I’m looking outward, I see 3 Sentinel Space Guards repairing a small breach on the hull of LB-2.

Tales of the Sentinel Space Guard
I pledged my entire life to keep the LB-1 Ship safe from all dangers in the Universe and on the ship. Being a Sentinel Space Guard was the best job anyone could ever had hoped to get. This job is not an easy one; physically demanding, mentally draining, and requires you to see and do some dirty things but you are the most respected person in the community, and everyone looks up to you. All I ever wanted to be when I was little was a Sentinel Space Guard. The first time I heard about them was in my third-grade physics class; we had to start thinking of what courses to take next and those courses would determine what career you were headed to at the end of your high school graduation. I wanted to be like the legendary Sentinel, David Sullivan, who single handedly rescued the refugees of planet Soran from the Multi’s invasion. He didn’t give up, even after he slowly started venting oxygen, he saved every one of those refugees and brought them on board the LB-1.

Was his apartment my…our…new home? A home we were making together?

Eon
Pushing away from the worn terminal, Trevor stares at the ceiling, bitter sor rowful tears filling the brim of his eyes. A quivering hand with a cigarette wrapped between his index and middle fingers makes another journey to his arid lips. Gale force winds crash into the beacon house with a ferocity he has never seen before. Lightning illuminated the skies for split seconds before being swallowed by the oppressive darkness, followed by a deep rolling thunder. The storm was not the reason for the pit of hopelessness inside of his belly; Like blood being drained from a butchered animal turned upside down, he can feel all hope leave his soon-to-be cadaver.

It Was All They Knew
By the year 2XXX, the land was smoke and fire. Buildings stood empty, crumbling slowly to the ground. Streets were littered with debris and scarred by battle. Weeds sprouted through the cracks in the rubble before being choked in the air. This was no longer a world for the living.

David shot up and gasped for breath, flailing in what appeared to be a bathtub of thick water. The last he knew he was at the resort, about to step in to the pool. Julie was in there already, waiting. Had he fallen in? But this water was cold, and these lights…
