Mystery
Who Knows
Jane woke up screaming to the comfort of her sister. Their world was shattered 20 years earlier after their dad died when two planes flew into the world trade center. The last time Jane saw her dad was the morning he left for work. She fell asleep on the couch that night and work up just in time to see him walk out the door. Then, just when things were getting better, both lost their jobs to a global pandemic that killed thousands. Jane's sister Sara stayed up with Jane after her dream and assured her it was just that, a dream. Things were slowly getting back to normal, and people were going back to work. It was their mother that kept them home. She didn't handle the virus well. She had scar tissue on her lungs that made small tasks nearly impossible. Jane and Sara took turns finding small jobs around their neighborhood to make money but knew it wasn't enough. One day one of them would have to go back to work. Jane didn't see much reason; she knew things would only worsen, but Sara had hope.

Fashion Kills
"Oh my God, I love your dress!" The sound of a very excited, feminine voice had Stacy looking up from her smartphone to see a petite woman with bright blonde hair standing in front of her table. She was dressed in a flattering white jumpsuit that clung to her curvy figure and her eyes were hidden behind dark RayBan's.

That Thing That Happened To You
That Thing That Happened To You You went missing on a cold January morning. The winter air whipped through my hair and down my back. The purple and grey jacket mommy bought for me from the Sally Anne store did little to protect me, chills spreading all over my body.

The worlds end
iting......The year is 2024 and widespread panic has erupted in the United States. It seems as if the laws of the land are no more. Everybody is out for themselves and there are no more peace officers fighting against Crime committed by those who had made a living doing so. There is an uneasy feeling everywhere you go. Everybody is being monitored by surveillance. This is being done by those in charge and the same people for having us move like animals. It is as if we are being herded around like some cows. We aren't allowed to make a move without it being documented. The money system as we knew it is no more. It has changed completely. What we used to know as dollar bills and coin change no longer exists. An individual's value and assets are now incryptions in a computer system called xtronic. Whatever monetary value you may have is kept in this computer system. People everywhere are killing each other and transferring over their wealth by an NFC capability that has been programmed into a little SD memory cards that have been implanted in each person's left eye. This lawlessness is absurd! It has everybody turning on each other. Mothers and fathers even killing their own kids to transfer the riches over to their own xtronic accounts. How did all this ugliness begin? Why did it begin? What has people acting this way and doing the things that they are ? I know I have the reasons that I assume things are the way they are but it's not for sure. Could it be 3 years ago in 2021 at the beginning of the administering of the Worldwide covid-19 pandemic vaccines that it was all a plot. A plot put together by the government to create the world's worst democracy driven country the world had ever seen. Could it be that the government already knew exactly what would happen after they started administering this drug to people without even knowing the side effects. Could This be the government's way of population control in the world and that after enough people have been killed for the riches that everybody would be brought back to normal ? Who knows ? Where do the answers lie to all these questions ? Will we ever know ? Is the government the Antichrist that was spoken of in the history of theology? The one and only hope that this world has is one child that was born of an unknown species. That species being of both human and an extraterrestrial hybrid that is too fast and too powerful for the Democracy-19 to catch and be forced to undergo the process of having that little SD card implanted into the left eye. This child Bears a heart-shaped locket that contains the only virtual key and Vital Information needed to destroy Democracy - 19. This child must be protected so that we could possibly restore the United States back to a nation under God. The only thing is that this child must make it to a mature-age to reach puberty in order to save this country from its present state of disaster. Will this child make it? Could it be that it could Dodge the Democracy-19 long enough to reach its teen years to save the US. Who knows? I do not even know my own gender I don't understand how I came to be. I don't even understand who I really am or what I really am . I do know this I will try with all the strength and endurance I have so that I can do what I was sent to this world to do. All I can do is pray that I will never be caught before I can save our United States of America!. I know that I love this country and that it is supposed to be the land of the free I know that it is supposed to be the land of the Brave. I hope I can pull this off. I will do my best. For now I shall rest and stay hidden from what I believe is the government.

Lucy's Ghost
As a veteran middle school teacher, I have seen my fair share of strange kids come through my classroom, but few students will stand out stronger in my memory than Lucy Kandle. Lucy was a quiet yet inquisitive girl who recently tormented my homeroom class. Here I was, a grizzled veteran, facing off with a small copper-haired girl who questioned everything and used the question "why?" like an instrument of torture. Taming her insatiable, infuriating curiosity into a force for learning has been one of the greatest hurdles in my teaching career.

JOHARI
The only strength I had left was holding my necklace together. One of the last pieces of Papa leaves marks of resistance on my hands, kissing every part of my calloused skin gasping for air. The harsh screams glue my eyes shut, and no matter how hard I fight it, the same memory plays in my head over and over again; Papa kisses me goodnight and asks me, “What do you think the world is made up of?” He smells like tears and decay, and his face is full of agony as if he knew something I didn’t. I smiled and said, “Papa, the world is just like you.” He fixes his face to smile and tucks me in, leaving the door cracked for only a stream of light to gleam into my room—one foot in front of the other, his loud thumps fade. I can hear faint whispers of his weeping. Time passes, and my room is filled with the calming screams of cicadas. I slowly shut my eyes and soon found myself embraced with a cold wind, left in the rain with his Heart-shaped locket trembling in my hands. Alone. Cold. Confused. That was four years ago.

The Musician
The things we consider real are, in my opinion, extremely fluid. Even your own mind doesn’t know if what you’re experiencing is “real” or a dream. Are you actually reading this? Or are you wrapped in silk sheets while images of pages and words flit underneath your eyelids? Am I writing this, or am I laying in a field of budding flowers and wild grasses, unconscious and vulnerable to whatever may prey on me? Our lives are full of these questions, to which there may never be an answer. At least until we wake up.

The Arrogance of Hope
This is getting old, John thought as he paused in the doorway of the dilapidated home. A gruesome scene met his gaze. Three lifeless but swollen bodies occupied the living room. The smell, while awful, wasn’t enough to trigger his gag reflex. He wasn’t sure what it said about him that he had become numb, apathetic even, to these moments of death, but what did anyone expect after everything had fallen apart?
