“Zero?” The name was a buzz that delighted morning despite the early hour. The party people had dropped some time ago, so all that was left standing at the bar was the gossip crowd and those with dangerous tolerance levels. Either way, this was my favorite time of working here, right before it closed. Gossip was a great tool to get a foot in conversations that led to deals and favors. As far as I could gather, the rumors about Zero had been spotted a few towns over, leveled a whole ring of thieves, took the law in his own hands in the next village to kill the mayor, and took down a few bandit gangs single-handedly. I knew that all these rumors could be easily true because I was raised by Zero. That was information I kept to myself, though, as I listened from behind the bar counter.

The Mercenary Malefactor
There weren’t always dragons in the valley. Well, not since some lunatic named Kormack went on a mad bender and decided to wipe them all out of existence some eight hundred years ago. Since then everything was quite quiet, relatively speaking. I mean, sure there was the war to determine which country would lay claim to the fertile soil and the extremely well positioned river that had been somewhat inaccessible until then and of course the border disputes that arose once a decade or so but that’s just the nature of things. All in all, everything was rather peaceful in the kingdom of Leigh.

Beware, low flying dragons
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. Indeed they could usually only be seen with a decent pair of binoculars as they soared and dived high above. If they wanted to eat or sleep the villagers thought they probably went to a different village. They hoped they weren't the next village to be chosen if one of the dragons got peckish.

Marco Saverio Loperfido, "Claude Glass"
“The landscape architect places himself behind what he wants to portray and thanks to the convex mirror he sees it all enclosed in front of him. Don’t you find that there are similarities with your way of looking at Italy, that is, through the lens of my gaze, placed behind you over time?”

As Above, So Below
" In the cradle, there is a blank nothingness. Nothing but the Kings and their colors. Their blinding hues that seep through every crack and memory left in my breaking mind. Their colors call on me, tell me my future lies in their hands, I just have to reach them, beyond the Wellspring.- The man who sees the Kings"

Tanith and the Dragons
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. Tanith climbed the old oak tree as high as she could go. It gave her good cover while she got a good look at the behemoths guarding the entrances to the valley. “Behemoth” she thought to herself. Gran would be proud of me using my word a day calendar. Although, if things continued as they were, there wouldn’t be much call for it in the future. She couldn’t leave the Valley. Who was able to come and go seemed random. Some merchants, like her father, had been barred exit for months while others made the trek back and forth readily. Soon, everybody’s wares were rolling out of the Valley in the three wagons that seemed to get a free pass.
