Mystery
The Hotel Dubois
Many had come to the Hotel Dubois with their pockets brimming with so many silver coins they could barely keep their purses shut. Only to be turned away. They’d put up a good fight, waving their hands and demanding entrance. Many often exclaimed, “do you know who I am?” Before Stanley had the oh-so-satisfying job, of sending them on their merry way, occasionally with a kick up the backside if they were behaving like a particular buffoon.

The Hole of Melton
Part 1 There was a flicker of light beyond the trees. It was bright enough to catch Lauren’s eye as she crouched in position, awaiting her next prey, if it could be called that. This was not the way life was supposed to go, but since the hole opened up in the center of town, anything was possible.

After 2 years, I finally read my dad’s suicide note.. Top Story - August 2022.

Divine Beings
2001 Sat between two stacks of oak bookcases— one devoted entirely to old tomes of Egypt and her pharaohs, the other to the histories of Asia Minor and the Levant— was a studious eight-year-old, nosedeep in a 19th century biography. The Exploits of J. H. B. Montserrat, Volume II. She flicked through the musty pages quickly, but with a keenness uncommon of a girl her age. Not for biographies at least. Even one as fantastical as that which she had chosen.

That's The Way To Do It!
What is that smell? Whenever we visited the old bookshop, as soon as you opened the glass panelled entrance door and you heard the soft ring of the brass bell that announced a new customer, it was always the same - you were met by this unidentified stench, a sickly sweet odour that immediately stimulated a desire to puke.
