Whispers in the Wind
He sat on the park bench, lost in thought. The world rushed by, oblivious to his invisible struggle. Shadows of regret played on his face as he recalled the missed opportunities, the words left unsaid. A crumpled piece of paper, a forgotten love letter, slipped from his pocket. It danced in the wind, teasing him with what could have been. In that moment, a gust of wind carried it away, a symbol of his faded chances. As it disappeared into the unknown, he vowed to seize the present, to never let another opportunity slip through his fingers.

Phoenix
The flames surrounded her weary frame causing her body to quake with every breath she took. Silence hung over her throughout the thick smoke that had taken her world away from her. No one could help her. They had all met their fate. She knew the end was near and embraced it. As the flames licked her, the smoke smothered her. Her lungs gave in to the smoke stealing her last breath and cursing her with another first.

“They willl forget you, you know.” He said taking the needle and squirting it lightly as he scanned for a suitable vein. “It doesn’t matter,” I sighed, “I had to say it, all the words. Freedom is important. They may forget me, but you can’t kill an idea. If I have to die so be it, I will meet my maker in peace. And my words are out there for all to know forever in the minds of future generations. They may forget me, but they will remember my ideas.”

The Atheist’s Prayer
He stood to his feet. His eyes opened. And his head tilted upward. He opened his mouth: “Earthly realm, hallowed be your name. You have begun and continue to be my place of work and rest. You are my only and the best. Until I explore even more, I will be a productive being in this world. I will trade with my fellow man and woman and reap benefits from your beautiful bounty. Mountains serve me along with water bodies and plains. It is all for me in my selfish way. I now appreciate that I can exploit you forever.”
