Rabbit lay dying under the wisteria tree, it’s generous cascades of purple blossoms swayed above her. "I’m scared I’m changing-" Said Rabbit to the tree, her last breath floating up amongst the branches.

And Rabbit did change. Her hair blew away on high winds, her muscles shriveled in the dirt, and mushrooms sprouted through her tiny rib cage. As Rabbit decayed into the earth the wisteria grew two slender roots through her skull, becoming a set of branched and blooming antlers; and so, Rabbit, became Jackalope. Her spirit bounded with gratitude into the next life.
