Zac and Matt were bored, so they rode their bikes to Hammond’s Pumpkin Patch on State Highway 412. They figured they could stop at the truck stop to pick up some energy drinks and snacks. They could spend a few hours at the patch before returning home if they left now.

My wife and I ate dinner at some high-class restaurant in town. There were about fifteen other couples inside, eating as well. Everyone was enjoying their meal and minding their own business. There were just enough workers here tonight to keep things running smoothly. It would be a perfect date night for my wife and me, I remember thinking.

The Lights
Felicia was walking home from studying at her best friend Bridgitte’s house. It was only 7:30, but it had gotten dark earlier, so it seemed later than it was. She wasn’t used to this later curfew that her parents had given her since she turned 12 and was a little nervous walking the block and a half back to her house.
