Once Upon A Starry Night
I wasn't trying to fall for anyone when I decided to go on a ten day tour with a group of young adults to Costa Rica, neither did I anticipate meeting the most unforgettable person of my life - but I couldn't avoid it. I was only there for the adventure, the adrenaline and my once in a lifetime chance to soak in the tropical forests, the mountains, the beach and the starry nights. But when I my eyes met yours for the first time, they penetrated me deeper than any arrows. I've never felt so vulnerable and yet so drawn to anyone before. We hung out in groups for the most part, but there were sneaky glances and excuses to try and hang out in the same groups when the group had to split. How was I suppose to know those ten days would have such a lasting impact on me? Because sometimes, I still find myself looking for those familiar eyes in large crowds...

Write In The Middle Of It
The corner store was unusually cold that evening. In between blowing her hands warm, Prudence mechanically put away cigarette cartons behind the counter. Apparently she had made a promise to the owner’s daughter that she would accept the cigarette delivery so she could watch her son’s Christmas Pageant, but she didn’t remember the actual conversation. Prudence was on her hands and knees putting the last carton in its slot when bells clanging against the opening door startled her. The store had been closed for an hour and she was sure she locked the door behind her.

Dreamer - Chapter 37
The ride home had been quiet. Rev had mostly kept his gaze out on the open road. He leaned his right hand against the steering wheel, while his left was held up against the window. The trees whizzed past as if we were racing them towards the house; whoever made it back first, wins. The closer we got towards my home, the fewer cars showed on the road. I'll probably never get used to life in the middle of nowhere; what the hell was my father thinking when he found this place? To break the awkward silence, I just pulled out my phone. Rev said earlier to make this technology-free.. but hey, I make my own choices now.

Kiss of Tragedy
Juliet arrived at the observatory a few minutes before midnight. It was early October. The weather was chilly, even though the first snow had not yet fallen. She had brought her winter coat as well as her toque to help fight the frigid wind. She didn’t know how long she would be able to sit outside since the observatory was not an enclosed space, but simply a gigantic telescope on top of one of the science buildings. However, the top floor had a comfortable heated room that led out onto the roof, so everyone was meeting there before staring in wonder at the moon.
