My Purpose
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. Every afternoon, he would let her spend a few minutes here to look down at the world she would never be a part of. She watched as guards patrolled the fort and counted the footprints they left in the ever-present dusting of snow. She came up with stories for each guard as they passed her view. One guard was on his way to the market so that he could cook dinner or lunch for the employees. Another guard was heading out to his car so that he could fix a broken tire that was preventing him from using his gasoline. One guard, who she really enjoyed seeing, was on his way to visit her so that he could stand near her. Every day these guards walked the same routes, yet in the fifteen years that she had spent in this tower, they never did anything else. She was born pure, without sores, and that meant it was her responsibility to fuel the summer flame so that what was left of humanity could be protected by its power.

Eternal Shadows: A Vampire's Tale
Inciting incident Something happens that throws the main character(s) out of their normal life and into a world of danger and mystery. This could be a chance encounter with a vampire or the discovery of a hidden vampire society.

It Lurks Among the Pine
As I write this, the mountains seem so dark and damp from the freshly fallen snow; too early in the season to settle on the forest floor. Incandescent yellows and fiery orange leaves climb the mountainside in broad strokes among the primarily piney wood.

Blinds
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. It was a small basement window, up quite high, looking out onto the street. The worlds worst window, dad had called it. Supposed to be a safety valve if there was ever a fire, or gas leak, or if you got trapped in the basement, but there was no way to open it. Break glass in case of emergency, he said, and laughed. She didn’t understand the joke.

Rebel Against: The Alien Uprising
The Abduction It was a typical Wednesday evening when it happened. Sarah had just finished her shift at the grocery store and was walking home when she saw the bright lights in the sky. At first, she thought it was just a helicopter or some other aircraft. But as the lights descended closer and closer, she realized it was something else entirely.

Split Mind
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. It was winter, but the butterflies didn’t seem to realize it yet. They moved aimlessly in corkscrew patterns behind the glass. She watched them as, one by one, they shivered under winter’s onslaught and dropped lifeless to the ground.

Behind The Last Window
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. She could see the outlines of mountains in the distance and could see the rushing waters of a far away ocean. There weren’t any animals around and it was oddly quiet without the sounds of any creatures. She could see the ground was dry and cracked, and it almost reminded her of being in a Scorching hot desert. The temperature was rather odd though as Elsie sat there in the freezing cold. She cried out but no one could hear her screams. She was desperate. She had no idea where she was or who had decided to keep her here.

Honorable Faceless Thing
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. Thurdo wadded up the piece of paper and tossed it out the open window, into the head-heaps below. A stupid first sentence, for a stupid gent with a stupid name. Thurdo. What kind of name was that? His grandfather had been Murdo MacNelson, his father Murdo MacNelson, Jr. What on Earth was wrong with Murdo MacNelson the Third? Thurdo. Suppose his mother thought that was funny, and his father couldn’t argue with a woman who’d just undergone childbirth. Turdo, that’s what the schoolchildren called him back when schools happened. Set him up for a life of embarrassment, is all it did, and if things continued to go as they were going, it’d set Thurdo MacNelson up for an objectively embarrassing death as well.
