THE SILENT CITY
Once upon a time, in a far away land, there was a city of silence. The city was built on a mountain, surrounded by lush green forests and majestic snow-capped peaks. The city was always quiet, never disturbed by the hustle and bustle of the outside world.

The Brutal Truth: Whipping and Flogging in Ancient Egypt
Whipping or flogging was a common form of punishment in ancient Egypt. This brutal and painful practice involved lashing a person's back with a whip or rod. The number of lashes could vary depending on the severity of the offense, and in some cases, the punishment could even be fatal. THE FACE OF EVIL
If walls could talk, the incredible stories we could tell. Let’s face it, ever since mankind has been building structures, my fellow walls and I have witnessed the unfolding of history around the world. We get torn down, burned, bombed and allowed to rot. We are often rebuilt and witness even more events.

The History
If walls could talk, we would have secrets to share. It must be understood that it took me quite a while to understand the world of people as compared to my own. One thing I do know is that I entered the world empty as a vessel, but I did indeed learn. I look back on so much of what I’ve seen not fully realizing what it was until now. It took me so much time to understand and see. The most important aspects to be understood became that I am home. I am a haven. In addition, it was my job to shelter. Therefore, we keep secrets because we are all keepers of our own domain. We have secrets and we hold them because it is our sacred bond with inhabitants that we shield them from the world. They are just as much a part of our lives as we are theirs.

How to Build a Firm Foundation
If walls could talk…we would probably all lose our minds. No, not you. Not at all, I think. You seem to be quite sane, although I wonder why you exert yourself this way. All that walking with the others on this strip of earth that must be hundreds of meters long. It makes sense that you would need a break, and then stretch and walk over to somewhere a little more secluded. At least you did not run away because you thought you were hallucinating. You are absolutely all right. I can talk. And I have a story to tell.

The Experiment
To Whom It May Concern, I’ve never spent much time thinking about time travel. It’s a theoretical concept; I can’t go back and change events, and if I could, what would I change? There are significant moments in my life, horrible moments, that I wish I never had to live through, but I don’t think they are changeable. Even if they were, I’d be so frightened that I would alter something in my own life and timeline that would take away my now and, most importantly, my family. I could never lose them; nothing is worth the risk.
