I followed the lights once, when I was a child. Lola had told me the stories, of course, but when do children really listen? The lights were there every night, up along the mountains, in solemn procession until sleep would claim me. Santelmo, people said they were called, and whenever I tried counting them, I would doze off before even making substantial progress.

ORB: Chapter 1
A couple of days earlier….”Is there anything else that I can get you?” Says the overly stout woman holding a hot cup of coffee over the table. “No, that will be all.” Richard says while trying to cover up the files that he had brought home from his office. “I’m telling you Richard, I keep having strange dreams about these balls of light in the sky but I can’t seem to piece them all together.”It’s like the dream is a puzzle and I'm just trying to piece them together just to get an understanding of them.” I don’t know how, and I don’t know why.” I think these dreams may mean something.” “Well, what do you think they mean Amber?” Said Richard.”I think they somehow are in connection to the rumors that I have been hearing around town." "Well, I've got something that you might be interested in seeing." Richard said I'm a whisper. "Take a look at these!" He slided over a few files that he had walked in with. "I think there just may be something in these files that may have a connection to your dreams." "Okay great! I'll take a look at these when I get home."

Gathering Glory
Destiny pushed him like a bus driver, up the main entrance to the Civic Center, past the entrance table where he found the lights and a loot bag and proceeded to his publisher's booth in the back corner. He picked up a copy to look at, saw his name on the cover, a third from the top, and felt an increase in satisfaction. His first sale as a writer.

Public Service
A mighty warrior saved us at the last minute. That sounds cliche, but it's true. My father was about to lose his job. My mother was crying about how she was going to pay the mortgage. We live on cash checks, spend a bit on Saturdays eating at a butcher shop, and then have to eat rice and beans or eggs and toast for the last two days before the next check is made.
