"The Sky Painted"
"The Sky Painted" There was a legend about the Painted Sky in the little community of Elmsbrook. Elders would tell children this tale while they looked up at the vivid hues of sunrise or sunset. It was supposed that the gods themselves had painted the sky many years ago. There was a catch, though: the hues of the sky were intended to be shared, a gift for everyone to enjoy. However, a self-centered artist by the name of Cael had stolen all the colors, kept them hidden in his studio, and painted only for his own pleasure. Ultimately, the sky became dark and lifeless as the gods punished him by removing the hues.

It was a long time ago. A king ruled in the beautiful valley of Kashmir. The kings palace was on the banks of the Jhelum River. One day the kings queen was looking out of the window of the palace. She saw a fish seller who was going to sell fish in the city with a basket full of them. The queen called the fish seller up. The fish seller kept her basket down. There was a very big fish in the basket right on top. Is this fish male or female If it is female, I will take it, the queen said. As soon as the queen said this, the fish laughed loudly and went down in the basket. Both the queen and the fish seller were scared by the fishs laughter. The fish seller quickly picked up the basket and left from there. The queen started thinking, I have never seen or heard a fish laughing. This must be some special fish.
