Larry the Shark
Two boats ripped across the surface above Larry the shark and his friend, Pierce the needlefish. Always intrigued about the finless, land dwelling, human world, Larry followed the commotion. Gunfire rang out between the boats, and soon a body splashed into the water, blood leaked from several bullet holes. Larry had never eaten a human. It was strictly forbidden by his family, but he was curious, especially when the scent of human blood hit his nostrils. The Hat
by: Dennis R. Humphreys Uncle Alfred Turner was the brother of my mother who is now deceased. Both of my parents are deceased. I'm only thirty but they had me when they were older and the combination of aging, world tribulations and most likely raising me, contributed to their deaths a few years ago. I was a hell raiser. I felt abandoned over the years not having family in the area and never finding that right woman to settle down with, I decided there was nothing keeping me in the area, so I went westward to join my uncle who was also not married by choice. The stories my mother told me about him when I was younger may have provided the role model for me inabstentia because he was the biggest hell raiser of them all. He was a cowboy complete with his own six-hundred and forty acre ranch, bought at government auction after the BLM decided to sell off parcels. He raised cattle and a few pigs.

Jingle All the Way
Jingle All the Way. Poppy was Santa’s new first in command, she had come from the toy factory about three months prior and had been promoted to Santa’s first in command since his actual first in command Bruno was out fighting off the Flu. It was strange to Santa that Bruno came down sick right after Poppy had arrived, she was a new Elf in the factory and had set her sights high from day one. Usually new Elf’s went to the Reindeer stables for no less than three years to prove themselves, but in less than three months she had made her way all the way to the top, by passing Elves that had been working their entire lives in one department. Most were happy to just stay put in one department though. Not, Poppy, she had made it clear upon arriving that she didn’t want to stay put she had goals and had set her sights on Bruno’s job right away. Mrs. Claus was suspicious of Poppy because she didn’t hang out with the other Elves when on break and she didn’t like the usual Elf foods and drinks. Mrs. Claus was a very good judge of a person and so if she said to watch out for Poppy then Santa was going to watch out for her.

Frost and Flame
I woke that night with nightmares unlike I've ever had before. They were full of despair, malice, and destruction from things I'd never seen before. Magic created terror among the people, and all I could do was watch as it tore everything apart. But there was one thing that caught my eye. The one creating the destruction wasn't someone that I knew. It was a woman that I hadn't seen before.
