Adventure
The Yellow Hibiscus Chapter 17
I looked around to get my bearings since I'd jumped off the train randomly for fear of being watched. I was at Grand Central Station. The closest was at 5th Avenue and 40th Street East. Though I'd lost track of time, I knew the library would still be open. I set my course and began a brisk walk of a couple of blocks. Walking was therapeutic and much needed in my hyper-harrassed state.

Silver Starling
It looks like a monster. I've never seen something so fearsome, so sharp, so loud. Every line is sharp and jagged without a hint of anything soft. I get the sense that it's ready to devour me as soon as I make a single wrong step. And it's not forgiving, either. It will make sure I'm consumed.

The Acranex
The Acranex By: Steven Dean Ryan’s breath escaped him in a rush as the ground beneath his feet gave way. He tumbled into a dark sloping tunnel, his sense of direction confounded. Gritting his teeth, he tried to brace himself for the impact with the ground somewhere below. Besides the debris that entered the tunnel with him, Ryan noticed that the walls of the tunnel were perfectly smooth and seemed designed to increase his speed as he fell through the eternal darkness.

“Stealing The Mirror of Stolen Lives”
The party of five adventurers sat around a magnificent feast, laid out across a grassy knoll, about a mile from the dark bulk that the locals nicknamed Castle Nightmare. The sun had set, the Darkmoon had not yet risen, and though the sumptuous meal would have been a joyous occasion to many in the Land, an air of caution lay across the group.

The Talents
Danny Foxworth was the first to die. He was young, very young, and very, very inexperienced. So inexperienced, in fact, that none of us could quite understand how he’d gotten into field work—he must’ve been some officer’s cousin’s brother-in-law’s son, and been assigned to the expedition as an act of familial courtesy. He was charming, and funny, and utterly irresponsible. We weren’t surprised when he died.

The scary thing we saw while fishing at night
We loaded up the truck with our poles just before dusk. Had grabbed all the bait we thing would do the job and headed out to the lake. Our local lake is only a five-minute drive from our house. Then backed up to the water and inched the boat and trailer into the water. I had never gone night fishing before, and there was no dock at this lake. I had to go in the dark water to guide the boat off the trailer into the water. Even though the sun had not set, the water was not clear by the bright sun overhead. It was dark and cold.

Silent Screams
Silent Screams By: Steven Dean Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. Jarvis wondered why the psycho that had boarded their ship, with his equally deranged crew, was so fascinated by that idea. Thirteen people had died so far, so that this poor excuse for a human could test whether or not he could actually hear them scream once he threw them out the airlock.
