To be continued (Tales of the Kingdom)
*** As they got closer to the Golden Kingdom, they began to see the outline of the large castle from a distance. This kingdom had the strongest physical presence of all the Middle Northern Kingdoms. The massive palace stood tall above the surrounding dwellings and far above the trees. The castle had lights surrounding it, neatly placed and evenly spaced above each split-level roof and all along the edges of the rooftop. The lights dimly peeked through the storm that was all around them. They had been riding for the past hour in heavy snowfall, both the girl and the stranger were glad to be nearing their destination. As it was starting to snow harder, they finally approached the gates of the Golden Kingdom. It was dark because of the storm, but it was also quickly approaching nightfall. They rode swiftly through the open gates all the way to a large set of stairs that spanned the width of the entire front entrance of the castle. ***

chapter two I stay in my bedroom for a long time. It’s not very pleasant (in fact, I’m bored out of my mind; I wouldn’t be, of course, if I could communicate with my friends or watch an inspirational video on how to make your cat famous), but I decide I just have to grin and bear it. I mean, how else am I supposed to make Mom and Dad feel bad for me?

Times of Change Chapter 2
Elysi had left the Elder after listening with children of the Ruby, Saphire, Topaz and Emerald. Their small clan only had a few of the colors, with her being the only with Oynx, the color of storms. The color of saving her people. This scared her with good reason, because as the Elder had explained to the whole group two nights ago, Those From Beyond were already working on turning Elysi to their dark goals. They had been brought to being after one of the Amber had learned of murder, and taught it to the people. Those of the Amber were the soldiers of her people, with any born of that color immediately sent away to the camps.

The Dragon Mother
Dragons were a fairy-tale woven by the mothers of unruly children; little boys insistent on adventure and little girls driven to spit at authority, to terrify them into doing as instructed. “Don’t go into the woods without your father, or a dragon will gobble you up!” an exhausted mother would shout at her son, fighting with sticks in the yard. “Don’t you disobey me young lady, or a dragon will seize you in the night!” as she sternly reprimanded her daughter for shirking her chores.

A Child Most Precious.
In the days before Doragon Aso ever knew himself to be called such, the boy had once belonged to a village. It only made sense that he would have come from one as he looked like a man would, and that was the curious state that led him toddling through the forest; not more than three years of age, and certainly not apt to be wandering such terrains. It was an evening one mid-fall and the orange hue of the trees as golden streaks of sunlight slipped between them produced an eerie glow. Entrancing as it was, the toddling boy was drawn further into the thicket of the forest. Not more than a couple of feet in height, Aso had dark, sooty brown hair, with charcoal eyes and his skin was a bit darker, such that the light caused a dark bronze sheen to hit his skin.
