The Kingdom of Tairius
A grown dragon finds an abandoned child in the forest... That's troubling.... It wasn't an uncommon practice for those who worshiped the demon Ashkos (Ash-cos); to leave their children as offerings to be used for his biding. They were molded and grew into something terrible. They grew as sorcerers and dark warriors able to wheeled perverse powers. They were abominable beings called Fi-enon or in translation "the children of Ashkos." Other dark acts such as sacrifice were practiced upon the innocent by the blinded and misguided servants of such an evil during early ancient age. They would discard those unable to endure the cruel experiments pressed on them. History, unfortunately, records these accounts and are canon In the book, "The Foundations." In the book, it tells much of the history of the planet Threa (Th-ray). As many of the temples that did these practices, they were burned and laid waste by the armies of Tairius (Tar- ree-us); the kingdom that still holds to serve only true Great king and creator, Noil (No-eel). Those who survived were rescued by my lord General Jarinain (Jar-ree-nay- in), a renown warrior. I, Lieutenant Emile, write to you as record, the account of one of his exploits. But first, you must understand the whole picture.

The Return
Someone once asked me, "What was it like, what was it like when you arrived on Earth? What were your first thoughts?" And in one breath, I replied, "It was an eerie feeling being all alone. The breezes whispered to an empty world. The morning glories climbed in abandon over disheveled old houses. No lights were on. No music echoed from the open windows on their porches. The cars seemed to be parked in eternity, with flat tires, chipped paint revealed rust, and broken glass was everywhere. Deer were always by the front steps munching on tulips. It must have been spring, and I might add, at last. A decade had passed since my parents had stepped foot on the Earth. The story began here as flowers were blooming and trees were turning green, Earth was still spinning, and new life was beginning in the wildness that humans had desecrated. And of course, I found myself here all alone. I was very afraid.

Swirling Dragons
Chloe brushed past hedges of prickly ferns, the taste of blood fresh with every scratch. “Dragons…Dragons…” she shrieked just as she plowed head first into the soft golden belly of a red-spotted creature; stars filling her eyes just as everything went black.

Season of Flame
The fall returned swiftly, its great change sweeping over the land like a spreading fire. With its coming came the shortening of days and the darkening of nights. A coldness swept through the air and grey, unsettled clouds filled the sky. The vibrant, life assuring greenery of the summer, slowly began melting away into equally rich hues of burnt orange, red and yellow. The aptly named Season of Flame was here again.

The Death Assignment
Unbroken thunder rolled in the distance as heavy artillery continued to hammer defensive positions across the river in the eastern suburbs. Bethany watched the destruction from her family's fourth floor apartment, flinching with each major concussion. The adolescent brunette caught her dim, moist-eyed reflection gazing back at her as though from the blazing orange sky beyond the window. All of her most-loved places were being destroyed: her school, her favorite park, and the neighborhood just behind it, where her best friend lived. Used to live. Bethany couldn't bring herself to look toward that particular plume, the one that billowed upward from Eastwood Estates.

The Yellow Hibiscus Chapter 21
It's too early to say." "What do you make of the florist's story? I am viewing it right now." "It doesn't make sense, does it?" Sgt. Booker explained. "A woman comes in with a Diamond to identify a flower. She hands it to Juan, and he goes up in spontaneous combustion! Sounds like science fiction to me. Diamonds will send you to the poor house, buying them, I mean, but they sure don't start fires or kill people."
