The Dragon Lost to the World
Ashes rained down from the red soaked sky. The Alpha star setting in the North while the Minor star rose in the South, both barely visible through the hazy pollution of Kronsphere. Trees still smoldering, crackle with new life, remnants of the fourth Great Burn.

Shadow & Scales
It was twilight in the forest of dragons. Time for Basal to hunt. The green dragon stretched his wings in the clearing. He looked back to see his mate Sylva, her wings sheltering three new hatchlings nuzzled up to her warm belly, bits of shell clinging to their lanky frames. Basal thrummed with pride and delight.

Oceanus
Kelp forests were normally too shallow for swimming dragons. But water rises and falls. On flood night Oceanus could swim above the towering vegetation, high enough that the barnacle-riddled leaves never brushed his scaly belly. When tides moved, so did underwater treasure.

The Journeyer and the Pilgrimage for the Origin of Magic
The Origin of the Void Half the city lay in waste, half the city breathed relief, and the woman gone wrong fled to the sky. Adrian mounted his dragon and they leapt into the air after her. The destruction to the shipyard was severe—probably her intent all along. Most of the entire port navy had been sunk, the few ships afloat were badly damaged, still burning or smoking. A mast with the blue and black Fellowship flag cracked and fell into the sea. Wounded and dead lined the shore and docks. The desperate call for “Healer!” sprouted up everywhere. The rest of the living residents had the same flabbergasted look on their faces, as if to ask—did this really happen? Half the city… gone.

The Last Leprechaun
CHAPTER 10 Hypathos quickly made his way to the River Lethe. Several weeks ago he had received reports of strange noises coming from the other side. When he went to investigate the first time, he had seen dozens of orcs lined up on the river’s edge throwing boulders into the river. At first, he was tempted to fly back to the city to warn the other fairies. And yet, when he thought of telling the Queen, he grew angry. For if she managed to prevent whatever the orcs were planning, she would rule for as long as she lived. That would mean hundreds, if not thousands of years of servitude under her for Hypathos. At that sickening thought, he decided to keep the orcs a secret and find a way to stop them himself.

Midnight Blood
A sharp, tearing, ringing sound sliced through her dreams. She shifted and huffed out air, hoping the sound would move on and leave her to rest. It didn’t. It lingered, rising and falling, shrill and earsplitting. She growled. How dare some obscene creature disturb her rest! Did it not know she had travelled far, that she was tired, and it was making her angry?

The Rogue Dragon
Stealing food from Cole’s kitchen will be simple. After all, I’ve been doing it ever since I learned how to steal. With Cole’s permission of course. When we were smaller, after a day of playing in the Forest of Shadows I would sneak into the kitchen while the cook was occupied and take tea cakes, scones, apples, sandwiches and bottles of milk. We would have a fine picnic in the woods by our Crystal pond and swim in the cold water to fight the summer heat.
