1 - A quiet wait We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. There was only two of us occupying the four-wheel drive monster that was chosen for this mission. Lolli was driving while I consulted the map; it was not hard to find the cabin, now we just needed to wait. When we pulled up to the cabin, I got out and assessed our situation. There was only the one road, no back way out, that was good. I double checked to make sure our tracks had been properly concealed, they were. I also made a mental note to let Sax know that the vehicle, her new invention, worked like a charm. We found a good place to conceal our conveyance and then we entered the cabin.

Now We Are Free
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. As new immigrants in the United States of America from a small island where the season is always spring, we were eager to experience snow for the first time. Our introduction to snow was about an hour before we made it to the cabin as we started to climb the mountain with our rental car. The terrain was not new as we searched for images of such terrains on the internet and also obsessively looked at the photos of the Airbnb link the host uploaded. We pulled to the side of the road, excitedly ran out of the car. I wanted to touch the snow but he wanted to taste it. So he let his tongue out with his head held high up towards the sky waiting for a snowflake to drop as I went straight into the ground and in a rush grabbed some snow. Of course it was cold, and he said the snow was tasteless, but we still wanted to live our movie magic moment. It was magical at first, but then it was cold and all bubbly and giggly we ran back to our car. We were surprised that none of us slipped as we ran in the mush and the snow.

WEEK 49
"We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin." The trees and their branches bend downward with an inch of pure white snow. As the wind lifts and twirls the snowflakes around, we watch nature's aerial ballet. Standing close to the road, a buck and doe freeze in a natural pose. Gossamer pink and blue clouds float above with the sun beginning to set behind us.

Snow and Ice
We drove up the snowy winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. The setting sun danced amongst a backdrop of mountainous evergreen trees as a deep wintry calm settled into my chest. Gone was the hustle and bustle of the big city. A whole weekend free of car horns, police sirens, fighting drunkards, and flashing lights laid out before us on a glistening white carpet. Snow crunched beneath the tires as I turned onto Cabin A’s private gravel drive. White smoke billowed out of the chimney ahead, and I saw that I was not the first to arrive.
