Steve McQueen's Green Rat Always Gets His Man
For Sarah Parker's Horror Micro-fiction (Unofficial Challenge)

It's stalking me. Every street I wander, every alley. Anywhere I go. I feel its presence. Its headlights shine through me to my soul. Its slick outline and metallic sheen haunt my every waking moment. At night, there's no reprieve. Its animalistic roar drowns out silent dreams. Since my visit, I have become a marked man. One look sealed my fate. It chose me. Tony at the Museum warned me. The Green Rat always gets his man. Now, in a deserted parking lot, I hear a roar, tires screeching, and the crisp air vanishes—then, all is black. Freedom?

Thanks for reading!
Author's Notes: Another entry for Sarah Parker's brilliant Horror Micro-fiction (Unofficial Challenge). Originally, it was going to be Burt Lancaster's car, because I suddenly thought while doing the dishes of all things (inspiration strikes when it's ready), "Why not do a little horror story called "Burt Lancaster's car's going to mow you f***ing down". After some research and thought, I switched it to Steve McQueen and hey presto!

Yikes! Great job building the suspense and intrigue in so few words
Well.... I mean, there's worse ways to go! 😅 This was a tense micro. I'm loving watching you branch out more and really put your wordsmithiness to good use, Paul!!
Channelling Agatha Christie! 😁
Hahahahahahahaha now thats terrifying! I freaking loved it!
Kinda reminds me of Christine.
I loved this and love that car, Paul! AI did a pretty good job on that pic!
I love how descriptive this is despite its brevity. It really brings the story to life. It’s very nicely creepy, too. Well done.
Steve Mcqueen is the better choice. like the style
Love the image you chose. One does have to think what if it caught me and for you inspiration does strike at odd times. Inspiration wakes me up a lot around midnight or dare I say it 3AM.
